Um, yes, I did write the Ten/young Mrs Wembley fic. I couldn't not, specially not after watching a Carry On yesterday. Fingers crossed, you shouldn't need to know anything about On the Up to read it, but it'll make you smile more at the end if you can at least picture a younger Joan Sims. (And if you can't, why not? Where have you been?)
Brief Encounter
(Tenth Doctor, Donna, Mrs Wembley. All Ages)
The Doctor thinks he knows all he needs to about meeting up with Mrs Wembley again (her past, his future), but someone should have warned him that the memory cheats and good people lie.

I know, I know. I'll be writing Sam/Maggie next. It'll be my own private fandom with no one else in the least bit interested... (I did check on ff.net, just in case, but it really is just me...)
Hmm. What else? Happy New Year!
(I had two invites out, but I haven't been feeling so well the last few days. Just in case anyone was wondering...)

Date: 2 Jan 2009 05:33 pm (UTC)I know, I am being so obscure, I should be banned off Teaspoon or something. Mrs Wembley was the elderly cook in an early 90s UK sitcom called On the Up. I wrote a crossover with it for my sister's birthday (Spanner in the Works) and then ended up wanting to write more.
However, she is played by Joan Sims, star of many Carry Ons and other comedies (and also Katryca in Trial, for a DW reference). So I know exactly what she looked like when she was younger.
I shall have to go and find a piccy somewhere.
And I am okay, thank you. I was more really tired than actually ill.
And a Happy New Year to you, too!
