Fanvid: Concrete & Clay (Poldark)

So, what do you do when you're waiting for the second half of Poldark S1 to arrive and suddenly realising you're not sure what else you have to watch? Yes. Of course. You make a Ross/Demelza fanvid. Or I do, anyway.
I don't think it's especially spoilery (there are a couple clips from the second half of S1 but mostly from the first two discs, and the actual story takes in a lot of things about other characters, copper mining and general historical things that aren't covered here) but then I am watching it and vaguely remembering what happens from years back anyway.
One warning: in the first 40 seconds there are two brief clips of Ross and Demelza fighting, so (even though it's not that in context!) could possibly be a trigger for domestic violence. (Robin Ellis is pretty tall and Angharad Rees is tiny.)
Concrete & Clay
The ground beneath our feet begins to crumble, but love will never die... (Ross/Demelza to Concrete and Clay by Randy Edelman.)

You to me
Are sweet as roses in the morning
And you to me
Are soft as summer rain at dawn, in love we share
That something rare
The sidewalks in the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begins to crumble
But love will never die
Because we'll see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye
My love and I will be
In love eternally
That's the way
Mmm, that's the way it's meant to be
All around
I see the purple shades of evening
And on the ground
The shadows fall and once again you're in my arms
So tenderly
The sidewalks in the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begins to crumble
But love will never die
Because we'll see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye
My love and I will be
In love eternally
That's the way
Mmm, that's the way it's meant to be
The sidewalks in the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begins to crumble
But love will never die
Because we'll see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye
My love and I will be
In love eternally
That's the way
Mmm, that's the way it's meant to be
And that's the way
That's the way it's meant to be
That's the way
Whoa, that's the way
That's the way it's meant to be
I realise that a song that mentions concrete and sidewalks is a bit anachronistic for 18th C Cornwall, but I thought it fitted in other ways.
PS. Think I need to make myself an icon of them really. :-)

Date: 6 Oct 2012 04:47 pm (UTC)No, I wanted to get some better screencaps first. I did, though, earlier in this week when I couldn't do much else. So I think that is what I should do right now!

Thanks for sharing.

Date: 10 Oct 2012 12:26 pm (UTC)Well, if you do, search around Amazon a bit because the Playback version which I got is actually edited down quite a bit and missing probably at least 30 mins of the actual series. But I think there is a Dutch release and a newer UK one by Acorn that are complete or something?
