I am a little better, but finding it oddly difficult (I get all tearful, it's v silly) to do some of the things that are usually the easier things. So forgive me if I don't reply/catch up just yet. I might post something later, see how that goes. (I am like a Blue Peter presenter these days, I seem to always have several Things I Made Earlier to hand).
Anyway, something more cheerful - I have a
fandom_stocking for the first time!
Here it is: http://fandom-stocking.dreamwidth.org/312545.html#cutid1
(I wrote it when I was light-headed without realising on Monday, so it is only lucky it wasn't even more rambly. Or even more about David Collings. I think I managed to delete a bit. *hides*) As you lot know me well, feel free - if you wish to put anything in it - for it to be anything you know I like, even if I haven't listed it. (My main fannish interests are obscure enough without me scaring passers-by any more than I have already.)
If you have a stocking as well, please do link me to it in the comments to this post! If you don't, and want one, I understand there's a week or two left to put one up. If you don't know what this is, it's just literally a sort of virtual fannish stocking - a place for people to leave you icons or drabbles/ficlets or other nice things of that sort as treats and then it'll be unscreened on Jan 6th. (I think. I'm not sure I didn't just make that date up, though, but it'll be something like that.) You don't have to do anything for other people's stockings unless you wish; it isn't an exchange. There's usually an AO3 collection for it, too.
But yes, link me to yours, please, too.
(ETA: Just looked at it. Oh, dear. Light-headed me, yes. :-/)

Date: 7 Dec 2012 01:06 pm (UTC)I thought I'd seen mentions of the 6th somewhere.

Date: 6 Dec 2012 08:25 pm (UTC)It doesn't read that lighthaded to me! But then, I caught Monday's post before you took it down and it didn't either, so maybe I'm to blame ;)
Anyway, hurrah!

Date: 7 Dec 2012 06:49 pm (UTC)I have a West Wing rec for you though. I don't remember Ainsley being in it, but it's Sam-centric, gen, h/c, angst, and rather sweet. It's one of the best pieces of West Wing fic I've come across, and it's called The Air Stings Like Autumn. It's also rather long, so you might want to save it (assuming you want to read it) until you've got the energy for it.
