The last of my Big Finish audios I ordered the other day came this afternoon, which is good, because of course, the ones I wanted to listen to first came last. (There seems to be a universal law about this sort of thing.)

So now I have:
The Harvest (Seven, Ace, Hex)
The Settling (")
The Fires of Vulcan (Seven, Mel)
The Shadow of the Scourge (Seven, Benny, Ace)
Bloodtide (Six, Evelyn)
Brotherhood of the Daleks (Six, Charley)
The Raincloud Man (")

I should also add that me trying to get the cheapest deals (second hand or new) on Amazon led to my bank deciding that this was suspicious activity and putting a security marker on my card which led to a very awkward moment at the petrol station when I discovered my card wasn't accepted. And given that evening's spending also including a donation to Comic Relief... Yes, thieves always steal debit cards and donate to charity! Actually, that sounds like an odd sort of modern Robin Hood story idea there...)

So I'm a bit wary of buying any more now... I dunno. (Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] persiflage_1, just the back of The Harvest is giving me ideas!)

I luffs "The Harvest", "The Settling" and "The Raincloud Man". I found "Brotherhood" a bit harder going. "Shadow" was weird. Not listened to "The Fires of Vulcan" yet...

Eee!!!

Sorry to hear about your card getting a security marker - that's pretty weird!

I've listened to Fires, as it was the first to arrive. (I've finally completed my aim of listening to the 40th anniversary Top ten audios, as voted in DWM. And very good all of them were, too. I had no idea where to start and they worked very nicely!) It was quite good, although a bit of a sudden ending. If Donna and the Doctor thought they had problems in Pompeii, it's nothing to what Seven and Mel go through!

I must get Fires as I've seen quite a few people talking about it.

Your misgiving about Scourge oddly, prompted me to buy it. Heh.

Heh, fair enough!

I've got to listen to it, first, you understand. And I do need to finish that tardis_gen story... But somehow, I don't think it'll be a problem. Unless it gets long. I'll try not to let it!

LOL, that's okay. I don't expect it instantly. Well, I do, but I'm realistic enough to know that won't happen! :P

*grins* I was just teasing you! I really don't expect instant stories. I'd LIKE to have them, but I know life's rarely that convenient!

No consideration!

There was a bit in the Sunday Post, or the Sunday Mail, or some Scottish Sunday paper I read at my Gran's, saying that card-thieves donate to Comic Relief to "test the card out" and divert suspicion. Or something along those lines; I don't recall the details because I just skimmed it while looking for the comics section 8-).

When my credit card provider decided there was suspicious activity on my card, they called me pretty much at once. Which I'm quite glad that they did, because I certainly wasn't the one buying mobile phone topups (and other items, which I don't remember at this distance in time) eighty miles away.

I've listened to the first four on your list. I liked them all; I thought that "The Settling" was great. "Fires of Vulcan" was probably my least favorite -- it wasn't bad, but it didn't engage me all that much, with Mel instead of Ace. That's just me. ;-)

I should also add that me trying to get the cheapest deals (second hand or new) on Amazon led to my bank deciding that this was suspicious activity and putting a security marker on my card

Hmm. I started buying so many books online back in 2000, in my "cheapest deals" search, that I'm surprised that my bank had no issues with that.

Hmmm... Shadow was actually the first audio I ever listened to, way back when, so I didn't realise that it was slight odd. I did wonder who the heck Benny was (until wiki answered my question) but it's not a bad story, and the glimpse into Seven's mind was fun, if a tad surreal.

Anyway, if (when... stay positive, when...) I find a summer job, I'm thinking of celebrating by buying an audio, preferably one with Hex in it. Do you have any recommendations?

Also, do you know how downloading from the Big Finish website works? Because if I buy the actual CDs the international postage adds up to almost the same price as the audio!
