A meme, stolen in the usual fashion

Because why not? And I am still extra tired. (Though I really do have hopes of tomorrow now. Or the day after at least. *sigh*) Hopefully this will be in my capabilities and prove cheering! Memed from various flisters:
Name a character in any of my fandoms, and I'll answer these questions:
1. Do you love/hate/don’t feel strongly about this character?
2. What’s your favorite trait of this character?
3. What’s your favorite moment/event involving this character?
4. If you could have one power/attribute/etc. of this character, what would it be?
5. Have you ever pictured this character naked?
6. When did you fall in love/hate with this character? If you don’t have any strong feelings toward them, why not?
7. Who’s your OTP for this character, if any?
My answer to 5 is in almost any case I can think of, a resounding: "No, I go to great lengths not to! People should have clothes on!! Clothes are good." or "Yes, *sob* can I have the brain bleach, please?" (Yes. I know. I'm v strange, sorry.) So if anyone wants an alternate question for that, feel free to give me one.

Date: 26 Apr 2013 11:36 am (UTC)2. Her habit of carrying spanners. Being Welsh.
3. Her dancing with the Doctor, and spending the night with him in the laundry place. ;-)
4. Well, I'm not very technical, so some of her engine know-how would be useful. Might be a bit out of date, but probably still more than I know.
5. I don't know - I'd have just been intrigued to see how it'd have been if she had been a companion. But then, I couldn't do without Ace.
6. I think it was the dancing. I'm not sure how strongly I feel about her, but I do like her - I like Delta and Ray, and Mr Burton particularly.
7. Doctor/Ray, Ray/Motorbikes.

Date: 28 Apr 2013 12:00 pm (UTC)1. I love him, definitely.
2. His sense of humour and thieving habits.
3. Oh, lots. His introduction, everything in City at the Edge of the World. (The whole episode is designed to show why Vila is so much better than all the bullies in his life, and he is. ♥)
4. I suppose it's not really very ethical to want to be able to steal things, but a bit of sleight-of-hand etc. might come in handy. Could be a temptation, though/
6. I loved Vila fairly immediately. It's a bit hard to recall, but I'm sure he was an instant favourite.
7. I don't know that I have an OTP for him. Vila/Staying alive, Vila/stealing. Vila/any sympathetic female who'll take pity on him. I have a platonic otp which is Vila-Avon, though.

Date: 25 Apr 2013 05:02 pm (UTC)1. She was my 11-yr-old role model. I adored her unquestioningly.
2. Plenty of things, really, but I can't help but appreciate her tendency to blow things up.
3. I think - and back to being an impressionable 11 year old again - I loved her killing Cybermen with gold coins. I should have a more sensible adult answer, because there are plenty of things to be said about Ace and her story. But... 11 year old me really liked that. And, you know, back-stage, Sophie Aldred was curing her fear of heights by running about atop a gantry... :-)
4. BLOWING STUFF UP.
6. As I said in the first 1; it was pretty much love at first sight.
7. I don't have an OTP for Ace - I love Seven and Ace as friends, and that's the nearest thing to one person for her, but it's not romantic (in my head anyway). I really don't know who I'd see as her OTP.

2. Not standing for any nonsense and being very down to earth.
3. Probably the miming bit, because everything about that is amazing.
4. I'd like her courage and ability to stand up to people.
6. I liked her pretty much staright away in The Runaway Bride - she was fun and a refreshing change.
7. Doctor-Donna platonically. I don't know who I'd really, seriously ship her with as an OTP. I haven't thought about this enough, have I?

Date: 25 Apr 2013 07:12 pm (UTC)1. Howl is one of those intentionally annoying characters, so I think I like him pretty well and find him amusingly annoying/interesting.
2. His vanity is pretty amusing and very characteristic.
3. Hmm. I think there was some stuff that particularly entertained me in the last book as being something only Howl would do, but I've forgotten what it is. I always like the different side of him we see when he's in Wales. (Clearly, I need to reread.)
4. Ha. Well, magic would be useful! (I think I'll do without the vanity and lack of a heart!) Or, actually, maybe the moving castle itself? Yep. Give me a moving castle.
5. I can't remember all the descriptions, but there was a blue and silver one, wasn't there? I like the sound of that, regardless of what Sophie may have done to it.
6. It takes a while to find out about Howl in the book, so I suppose it was pretty gradual - but I think he's pretty entertaining.
7. Howl/Sophie, who else could keep him in line? ♥

no subject
Date: 25 Apr 2013 07:18 pm (UTC)2. I love how he sees himself as the hero of this story, but he really, really isn't, and that the series can do that. (In any other show he would be, wouldn't he?)
3. I think the ending of Deathwatch. I do like Tarrant, but I didn't expect to be that moved by anything involving him, and yet I was.
4. Er. Well, I wouldn't mind being as healthy as he obviously is, and I could have some of his height and maybe some of his excellent Robin Hood S3 outfits.
5. That would be tragic. It's bad enough that it's not as pretty in S4 without being doomed to being forever in an Ace!Rimmer wig. Although, whether that would make him start behaving exactly like Ace, I don't know...
6. I don't think I really have that many strong feelings about him - I quite liked him from when we worked out what he was up to in Power Play (?), and liked him a lot more once he started getting missions with Dayna, because he's always more fun when he's with Dayna.
7. Tarrant/Dayna. Possibly also Tarrant/Robin Hood outfits and Tarrant/self-delusion. No, really, Tarrant/Dayna.

Date: 25 Apr 2013 07:29 pm (UTC)Liz:
1. I like her quite a lot. :-)
2. Her determination, her brains, her snarkyness, her chemistry with the Brigadier.
3. A few, but particularly when she tells her kidnapper not to worry, she won't hurt him.
4. I'd love to be as clever and scientific as she is.
6. I think actually when I started writing such a lot with her in, but then that coincided with me getting to see the rest of S7 properly for the first time, too.
7. Brig/Liz! ♥ (Liz/Science also. And Liz/Silver is fun, but not as an OTP. Silver'd never stick around for long enough and would be very annoying if he did!)
Three
1. Actually, while I do like him, of course, (he's the Doctor!!) slightly ironically, he's my least favourite classic Who Doctor. (But to make it up to him I've written him the most.)
2. His impressive sandwich eating skills.
3. Oh, hard. There are quite a lot. (He's the Doctor!) Everything where he and the Brigadier snark, and the lovely understated bit where they make up again in Ambassadors of DEATH.
4. I want his TARDIS! (Sorry, Doctor). If all that Time Lord intelligence doesn't fit inside a human mind, I'll think I'll pass. Actually... I don't want his TARDIS; it doesn't work properly. His velvet jacket? The ability to insult bureaucrats with impunity?
6. He's the Doctor! I already liked him before I saw him, because I'd seen a few other hims by then.
7. Three/TARDIS? I don't know. I don't know that I actively ship him with anyone. (Sorry, Three.) I like his relationships with several people, though - Three & Liz, Three & the Brig, Three & Jo, Three & the Master...)

Date: 25 Apr 2013 07:37 pm (UTC)1. Oh, I love him more than I should.
2. His charm and his approach to literature and children's TV.
3. Oh, so much of him I haven't even seen and it's still so hard to choose! Actually, just the first moment when he turns up in Frontier in Space. I cheer each time. (It's terribly dull till that happens.) No, wait - in Claws of Axos when he joins forces with the Brigadier. And where he's shocked at the Doctor's TARDIS. "Over weight, underpowered, might as well try to fly a second hand gas stove."
4. I'm not sure his abilities would be good for me. I don't really want to hypnotise people, shrink people, or make up rubbish plans to
annoy the Doctortake over the galaxy. His suavity and charm, then. I'd be equal to anything.5. I suppose it'd have to be that time in my cake!fic where I imagined him making cake from a packet mix and icing it. Really, you'd think I'd have come up with something odder, but I've spent shockingly little time picturing him doing anything. Possibly because of the dangers of getting hypnotised and losing hours in contemplating him. I shall go away and picture trying to fly a second hand gas stove.
6. I fell in love the moment he turned up in The Sea Devils (my first ever Three serial, courtesy of BBC2) and liked the Clangers. I haven't ever quite recovered since.
7. Well, he is obsessed with the Doctor, so Master/Doctor a bit, but not really. Master/Really Rubbish Plans? Worrying Master/Jo?

Date: 25 Apr 2013 08:15 pm (UTC)1. I love Leela a lot.
2. That her ignorance is never the same as stupidity.
3. So many. Probably in Horror of Fang Rock where she can't understand what's bothering Vince about her taking her clothes off, and slapping Adelaide, and gloating over the Rutan. Her moments of trying to help people and understand all the things she sees that are so unfamiliar to her. (I like her a lot.)
4. I wouldn't mind being as fierce as she is, or as brave and willing to learn.
6. Before I saw Leela, I thought I might not like her. She wore a tiny outfit, was a savage and was played by that annoying woman from Bergerac (sorry, Louise). But then I finally got to see Robots of Death and she was amazing and not cliched, and lovely. And she's pretty awesome in all her other stories too, and largely because of Louise being brilliant. (So my childish impression of Bergerac was v misleading!)
7. Leela/hapless (but usually intelligent) guy of the week. Just because it amuses me a lot. I probably am odd because I actually even like Leela/Andred, just for the lols. And because LOuise and Chris try so hard and no one else is bothering at all. And Leela/K9, and not romantically, Leela/Doctor, because she has such unbreakable faith in him without ignoring his faults.

Date: 25 Apr 2013 10:13 pm (UTC)How about Steel? And alternate question #5, um... What's one thing you would have liked to have seen done with him in canon that wasn't? (Ooh, that's a good question for any character, isn't it? I should remember that one! Maybe I can substitute it in, myself, next time this meme comes around. :))

Date: 26 Apr 2013 08:35 am (UTC)1. Hmm. I like Steel, he's very interesting, but I possibly do feel less strongly about him than the other two. But in relative degrees of obsession, I suppose that's not saying much.
2. His traits are actually a bit scary. However, the way he really doesn't care about offending people is fun.
3. I think any time he has that Look as to how obviously stupid and reckless we humans are for putting new extensions on old houses/reading books/taking photographs and all the rest of the dangerous things we insist on doing, really.
4. Well, hmm. Mental communication might be handy, I think. The rest of his abilities would probably be as much a curse as a blessing.
6. I can't really remember. I was in a bit of a daze when I watched S&S the first time. I think, actually, at the ending of A2 when I realised how far the series and Steel would go - that made me more interested.
5. Sapphire/Steel, obviously. I OT3 Silver/Sapphire/Steel quite badly, and Silver/Steel is the most amusing S&S pairing (out of the limited options!), but I think, for Steel, that's optional and Sapphire isn't.

Date: 26 Apr 2013 08:42 am (UTC)2. All Avon's traits are pretty bad, really, it's the combination of them that works. Or, no, his epic snarkiness is wonderful.
3. Every he says something snarky? That's a cop out, but then, there are a lot of great Avon moments. That makes it hard.
4. Not wishing to get boring, but a snarky insult for every occasion could come in handy. Or being a computer genius, actually. Except, would he know enough about 21st C tech for that to be useful to me?
6. I liked Avon pretty rapidly, I think. I know that by S4 he and Vila were in a war as to who would be my favourite character. (Vila won, thanks to Orbit.)
7. Avon/Everyone. Avon/Blake is the one true obsession, but I'm not sure that's the same thing as an OTP, or not the way I go about anyway. Or Avon/Nearly Everyone, because I do have some limits. Avon/Orac also. Oh, and Avon/Servalan are scary but entertaining. Avon/Everyone, as I said. :-)

Date: 26 Apr 2013 02:19 pm (UTC)Therefore I choose Mr Gold/Rumpelstiltskin and Snow. I hope this doesn't make you any tireder x.
Oh and I forgot to swap the naked q for: What would you like to see the character(s) smash up?
no subject
Date: 27 Apr 2013 11:26 am (UTC)1. I do like them both, they're two of my favourite characters from the show.
2. I think Snow amuses me mostly for how very like the Disney Snow White she is and isn't. Rumple in any of his forms is always just about the most fascinating character in it.
3. I just don't know that I have favourite moments for either of them - I raced through S1, so it was just this ensemble thing that I really liked. Maybe the way that Snow ended up taking the apple, because it was very much a deliberate decision, and Rumple's pretty much always being either mean, amusing, villainous, or someone we feel sorry for.
4. Snow's determination and fight, I think. As to Mr Gold, no, I'm not having any of his abilities! Magic always comes at a price in this show.
5. Well, what hasn't Mr Gold already tried to smash up? Er. I'm not really much in favour of smashing things up. Except when I am.
6. I actually watched Dreamy before any other episode and Mary Margaret/Snow and Mr Gold were the two characters who caught my attention, probably mainly because everyone else seemed too random and inexplicable, I don't know. So I probably still have a bit more liking for those two than the others, though Emma grew on me rapidly once I started properly at the beginning.
7. Snow/Charming, but I like Snow/Red, too. Rumple/Belle. Rumple/Magic, Rumple/Really Bad Decision. I'm not sure I've progressed yet to very active shipping, but still.
