People on my flist are very busy and important just now:

In the absence of Remix this year, [livejournal.com profile] paranoidangel42 and [livejournal.com profile] hhertzof are running [livejournal.com profile] dw_remix.

[livejournal.com profile] dbskyler is running a 50th anniversary Doctor Who ficathon, with (hopefully) a fic per year - you can leave prompts now! [livejournal.com profile] dw_50ficathon

Or have a nice banner, why not?

Not to mention that [livejournal.com profile] who_at_50 (run by [livejournal.com profile] jjpor) is still continuing, celebrating a Doctor each month in fanworks (as well as sharing anniversary news etc.).

(Also, not on the DW front, the first rumblings of [livejournal.com profile] yuletide can be heard coming this way.)

B-but I have commitments. And stuff. And trope bingo. Stupid internet.

No, they really don't. Although I did have my first day of uni today and ended up chatting about Doctor Who with my course administrator, which proves they're never out of hearing distance, I suppose. >___>

That'd be nice-- it's just, I have a fic to write for a Doctor Who anthology which is proving to be more than a hassle than expected (how do plot? words?? reasonable time management???), plus some ideas for bingo fills... but I guess if there's a prompt that jumps out at me...

Unexpected DW fans willing to discuss the portrayal of religion and science in old sci-fi shows. I love this course already.

I want to say I'm bad at leaving prompts... but really I think I just hoard all the good prompts for myself to write another time. And then I forget about them. XP

I'm not important! I just got a crazy idea for a ficathon that wouldn't leave, and decided to make a community for it. It's my first community ever! I'm still amazed that people I don't know are actually joining it.

Besides, you're helping me mod it, which means if I'm important, then you are, too.

I'd love to, but I'm already swamped with my missed deadlines at who_at_50 + my dissertation. I need to realise that my health won't allow for much more than that atm. Maybe once I've caught up I'll have a look. :)

Thank you. <3 I do feel kinda silly about not having the energy, because you're still able to write a lot, even being unwell.

Very true. And it wasn't meant as a dig, btw. ;)

And thanks again. <3

Yes, busy and important, that certainly sounds like me...! ;D

I do seem to have been busy, actually - it's been a while since I actually read the old flist. I'm very interested in dbskyler's 'thon, it's a cool concept with the years and so on, but I'm conscious time is short and I already have rather overambitious plans regarding 50th anniversary fic; however, that "no minimum length" rule may come to my rescue there...

Anyway, I hope all is well with you, or better anyway. From the comment you left on my UNIT fic on Teaspoon the other night I'm thinking you might be having a good spell. Or that could just be me leaping wildly to conclusions based on little evidence. :)

If by "this" you mean my ficathon, [personal profile] jjpor has already kindly given me permission to pimp it at [community profile] who_at_50. I was just waiting until I figured out why some people are having trouble getting to the comm through my graphic -- which I have now figured out, thanks to [profile] john_elliott. (It turns out it was a mistake to pick a community name that included an underscore in it. But now that I know it's an issue, it's easily solved!)

I'll be writing up a pimp post for [community profile] who_at_50 soon. It's a little more complicated than a simple announcement, because I want to make it clear that fic written for [community profile] who_at_50 can also be used to fulfill years in my ficathon. In other words, people already planning on writing something for the 50th anniversary don't have to write two different fics to participate in both 'thons. :D

Well, my post for [community profile] who_at_50 got swallowed by the moderation queue, so the fantabulous JJ is going to do an advertising post for me. Hurrah!

I've got a username with an underscore in it, so I'm used to changing it to a dash when linking :-)

Yes, life after the 50th... Whatever will I do with myself? ;D

Well, here's hoping (sending good vibes your way and so forth).

As dbskyler says below, matters are in hand, delayed only by the who_at_50 moderation queue acting up, which could be down to LJ or could possibly be down to technical difficulties of the sort related below (not that I'd know), but PMs have been exchanged and plans are underway...
