Give me a topic, and at some point in the next few weeks I'll ramble about it. It can be anything from fandom-related (TV shows, books, computer games) to life-related (aspirations, identity, political beliefs) to pizza preferences* to whatever you want.

My rambles will probably be brief, or not, depending on the subject.

Also, I reserve the right to decline prompts that I don't feel equipped to meet. Topics: you can get an idea from my tags/my stories/the stuff I usually babble about/from things you maybe wish I talked about more but don't.

December 14th, likes and dislikes of Downton?

I picked up a vaguer version that doesn't promise dates, but I shall do my best to talk about Downton for a bit! :-)

The horrible truth is: Downton is one of my happy escapes from reality and I like it too much. I am even still watching after S4. I am probably evil, but I don't take it seriously and it has cheered me up over a long period of being ill when I have often found it very difficult to watch any TV at all, so I hope it doesn't even do anything even worse and make me stop. I'm sure this makes me a terrible person, but what can I do? I love the whole ridiculous thing, really. Could wish Bates and Anna would stop living a separate world where their suffering pays for everyone else's rainbow world, but I've got used to that being the Law. And I love Mrs Hughes and regular Dame Maggie Smith on my screen.

:lol: It's okay. And I can also have goat's or sheep's cheese, but it just makes pizza a bit fiddly and expensive for me to bother just for me. I do love it when I have it, though. But I don't think I have a whole post in me about it.

I don't mind answering that, but I can't really think how I would turn it into a whole post. (I mean, plain chocolate, absolutely. Otherwise, there are lots of reasons why I avoid junk food at the moment.)

Since this one was a sort of question proper, I shall say that I do still enjoy Agatha Christie! When I first read them, I liked the Poirot books the best, but more and more, I like Miss Marple the most. I like some of the one off books, too, and enjoy it when Ariadne Oliver turns up. But, yes, Miss Marple. *nods*

For fanfic, OOC. I'm not very patient with too many spelling/grammar issues etc., but OOC behaviour is the first thing.

In canon, it's loss of too many characters at the same time, sudden completely random plots, or occasionally, if I'm watching as it airs, because I forget to record stuff and drift away.

Hmm, well, they haven't, but my favourite Doctor is Seven, and someone has asked me to talk about him and Ace. So I don't mind something else, if you like - or, if you don't mind, I can talk about who are my other favourites, though that's most of him, really. It's hard to decide. ;-)

I like all of the Doctors! It is very difficult! I love Seven the best, and then, depending on my feelings/the time of day/whatever, Eight, One, Two, Eleven, Five and Six all very much the same, Ten and Three a little less, and I will confess to a feeling of disconnect with Nine - he's never felt quite as much the Doctor to me.

But the Doctor is the Doctor and they're all splendid chaps, as someone I liked very much once said!

*hugs* Yes, Seven forever. And Six, because he was there during the worst of my teenage angst, and I think he's actually a pretty good Doctor to watch when you're drowning in teenage angst.

Aw, yes, Six would be a fabulous Doctor for catharsius of spurious morality angst! Not, of course, that he's not fabulous, anyway.

But Seven was where I started, and so he was my Doctor on TV the first time round, which none of the others were. :-)

You've been watching Downton Abbey lately, I think? It was nice to see someone being enthusiastic about it.

I made one of my best friends from reading another friend's reading list so that works! (And My Guests too, lol. ;-))

Downton Abbey! The Christmas episode is coming! I discovered the show over the summer and inhaled all three seasons just before season 4. I've never had to wait for a Downtown Abbey ep before. *waits impatiently*

But yeah, I love discussing that show. :-) And look, you like TWW as well! During my time off next week I'm going to have to spend some time exploring your journal!

Aw. I've been watching it since... 2010, is it? It is, I think. The wait is Not Good, but it is possible to survive. *nods*

And I do - I've been not around properly again (this time of the year is like that), but I saw you do the Quote Leo McGarry thing. TWW is amazing!

Sadly, my LJ is mainly full of me going on about my inexplicable love of strange old UK TV from the 60s and 70s but sometimes I do remember to come out and talk/write about my proper fandoms, too.
