I've had this fic (for hc_bingo square "secret identity revealed") hanging around almost finished for a while, so I've finally done the last tweaks & here goes. I always said one day I was going to write a Spooks fic where there really was an apocalypse and Tom ran the country while Ruth ran him*, although I'm not sure this was what I had in mind...

Well, i'd rather have had a more real-world apocalypse, but in the end, I went with that, for Reasons. :-)

Ah, what a story. Quite haunting, but the line about how England being demolished by aliens wasn't at all typical, even for MI-5, made me laugh more than was probably appropriate for the tone of the piece. ;-)

Thank you! And laughing is fine; it's Spooks, it ought to be sort of wry at the least. And I was not taking it all that seriously, or I wouldn't have put an alien apocalypse in it. Though I did try. ;-)
