I should have turned that into a meme, shouldn't I? Something like this:

Think of a Doctor Who story. Go to The Hobbit Name Generator and turn all the characters into Hobbits (or Elves if you want to be dignified). Then type the summary of the new 'story' in your journal.

How about that? The only trouble is, you have to use people with two names. Rebels rarely have these. Oh well, there goes my Completely Ridiculous Idea for a Meme. :lol:

(And Hobbit UNIT are hilarious. I wouldn't trust them to cook me breakfast, let alone save the world...)

There are ways round the one-name problem. If you wanted Borusa, for instance, you could call him Dave Borusa, run him through the generator ("Drogo Bolger") and then hack off the forename leaving Bolger.

Another variation would be to give the TARDIS crew hobbit names and everybody else elf names (or, for particularly arrogant Doctors or companions, vice versa). Thus The Tomb of the Cybermen: Bungo Danderfluff and his companions Fosco[*] and Bramblerose meet up with Loremaster Annárë's party, just as they discover the lost tomb that is the object of their quest. But the Dark Elves Narmolanya and Elensar have a secret agenda of their own...

[*] Jamie gets the choice of "Jamie" => "Dimple" or "James" => "Fosco". Break out the white mice.

Yes, definitely go for Fosco. Otherwise that's two companions called Dimple, which is silly. (As opposed to the sensible use of the rest of it, obviously...)

Wonderfully, Jimmy turns out as Pimpernel, so all the Brig's interchangable Jimmies become interchangable Pimpernels.
