1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 5?
Yep! I think I pretty much started with Welcome to Brighton?, even though there wasn't actually much grounds for it at that point. They switched on a light bulb together! Gosh.
2. Have you ever read fanfiction about 2?
Yes, but it doesn't usually wind up being what I was looking for. (What is life outside DW fandom? Either you're in a fandom of one, or you're in a popular fandom with about 3000+ fics for the pairing and you don't like any of them. It's tough. DW is the best.)
3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr ID?
Nope. I sort of have an icon, though?
4. If 3 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?
Apart from the fact that I don't think Five and Tegan were really, technically together, I don't think anyone would be surprised. It has already happened, in fact. Twice. At least.
5. Why is 1 so important?
Because together they save us from the horrors of time on a regular basis! I mean, probably they don't really need to flirt to do that, but it seems to help them get things done. Ish. (Steel would disagree, but he's out-voted.)
6. Is 4 a funny ship or a serious ship?
It starts off as quite a humorous ship in some ways and winds up deadly serious. Or possibly as crack, depending on your view of the last few seasons.
7. Out of all your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?
LOL: Sapphire/Silver/Steel.
8. Of all the ships, which ship has the strongest bond?
Probably Silver/Sapphire/Steel again as they can even reach each other telepathically, although Sapphire/Steel has the strongest bond, really.
9. How many times have you read/watched 2’s fandom?
Hmm, S1 and 2 I've seen I think about twice each, maybe three times now, I'm not sure. S3 & 4, I'm lucky to see once. *grumbles again*
10. Which ship lasted the longest?
Well, only one of them is strictly canon, so Ruth/Harry. But on the other hand, maybe that never really got started. And Silver/Sapphire/Steel could potentially last for millennia, so...
11. How many times, if ever, has 5 broken up?
Given that they've never really been together, they've still managed to break up twice. It's very unfair.
12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 1 or 3?
Well, Silver/Sapphire/Steel would obviously survive, but I can't see Five and Tegan not making it, either. Everybody lives!
13. Did 4 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?
They're spies. Although, to be fair, mostly they were just hiding it from each other.
14. Is 5 still together?
YES. I mean, they might both be dead by now, but totally married and buried together in Brighton. I accept no other possible headcanon.
16. If all five ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?
(There is no question 15, apparently.)
I don't really know The Hunger Games, but, okay... Well, obviously Frank & Helen are far too realistic, they'd never do well. Sapphire, Silver, and Steel would not be playing, they'd be investigating why this was happening in the first place, as it does involve people from slightly different time periods. (And if they were, it'd be run by the Transient Beings and it wouldn't go well for anyone, so let's not go there.) Five and Tegan would probably be more focused on escaping and bringing down the gov't that allowed this than winning, as would probably Harry and Ruth, so Emma and Regina, armed with their magical powers and Regina's dislike of losing, would just have to win.
17. Has anyone ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?
They don't need to! Someone tried to help them be a ship and Frank just sabotaged everything himself with some slight help from Helen.
18. Which ship(s) would you defend to the death and beyond?
I really don't think any of them would want me to. I wouldn't exactly be much good at it; they'd all be better at doing that themselves, really. And beyond? What kind of meme is this? Possibly Frank/Helen, because nobody else would.
19. Have you ever spent hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?
No. I bet it would run out fairly quickly, though. (My Tumblr searching often goes that way: "It looks like that's all for 'James Maxwell'! Try something else?" :-/) I should probably try sometime when I'm bored.
20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the five ships to break up forever, which ship would you sink?
I don't know what sort of life this meme writer has, but I'm really not expecting an evil witch to drop out of the sky any time soon, plus, if she's evil, it would probably be a good idea not to do anything she says.
But given that I'm not much good at fighting, if this hypothetical evil witch with questionable priorities in life actually does turn up, then Emma/Regina maybe, because I don't think it's ever really going to float, sadly. Just it'd be nice if I could find some more fanfic I actually liked before that happened.

Dude. I do not know how I was happy with ANY Fandom until DW, because this answer is so, so damned relevant it makes me wanna cry. I swear, there are TONS of good writers in OUaT Fandom...for Gen. Rumbellers get it wrong. SwanQueen shippers get it wrong. May have to wade in with Completely Wrong Dark!Slashyness just to show these goofballs that if you are going to get it Wrong THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT. Deliberately. Whole-heartedly. And fergoshsakes can we try to keep the characters IC, the stories interesting and LEAVE THE DAMNED CHARMINGS OUT OF IT?! *Sigh*

Date: 20 Jan 2015 05:40 pm (UTC)Oh, yes! I was being slightly flippant, but it's an incredibly well-constructed set of eps, S4 of Public Eye. That scene between them comes exactly in the middle of the episode, Mrs Mortimer is the only person in the ep who treats Frank as a person rather than as a prisoner on parole, and the light bulb thing is not only metaphorical, but it also involves them touching each other, making her not only the first woman he's spoken to properly in a year, but also the first woman's he's touched in that time, and therefore what follows may or not be partly in reaction to that. And a lot of the other eps, and especially the never-said-out-loud relationship between them is exactly as sharply written. It's not subtle, but it is exceptionally well-constructed. (I feel like sitting there taking notes from the Roger Marshall school of how-to-write-for-TV while watching some days.)

Oh, let me love you back! I know a friend and I have this problem with OUaT fic - I lean towards Emma/Regina when I'm not being gen and she Rumbelle (when she's not being gen) and it is so hard to find anything that well... I think you have it covered above! It's good to hear that other people feel the same as well. Well, not good; it'd be better if there was a whole stash of awesome, complex shipfic, but you know what I mean!

Something...should be done about this. I am undecided as to what/how, though, as I'm sure any fic I contribute could likely be a smear across the face of OUaT fandom and lynching (as in being-lynched) has never been what one would call a hobby of mine.

I'm sure no fic of yours would be that! Honestly, your writiing is much too good to ever be regarded as a smear. Especially not in a popular fandom with plenty of terrible writing going on!! ;-p Weird comments are probably a given, though - even I got one for my strange Emma/Regina fic I wrote. The thing with OUaT seems to be that if you write for a juggernaut pairing (pretty much Emma/regina or Rumple/Belle, you get attention, but if you write gen or any other ship, pretty much it's *crickets* and you can write whatever you want!)
