*hugs* I feel your pain. Cliffhangers are terrible!
So, tell me about Blake 7... I've seen... it's title... LOL. I've seen a few people mention it, but have no idea what it is about. I take it you would recommend it?
Basically, yes. And if you've ever seen any late 1970s Doctor Who or watched a Terry Nation episode, you'll have continual deja vu. With much snarking.
It's been written mostly by Terry Nation, Chris Boucher and even some Robert Holmes episodes, David Maloney was producer and actors I've spotted so far include Peter Miles, John Leeson (twice) and someone from DW every other episode. It doesn't need crossovers with DW. It is one. Plus, it's all very intriguing.
The special effects are ... pretty much like DW in S15-17. With Michelin men. And rather lovely costumes, mostly.
I'm enjoying it. velvetfascism instructed me to seek it out and I did. People keep telling me it's going to go downhill after this, but it's been pretty good so far. And that episode and the cliffhanger were fantastic. :-)
Heh. There is a fair bit of snark (it was script-edited by Chris Boucher, so bear Robots of Death and Image of the Fendahl snarkiness in mind) from everyone, but Avon (Paul Darrow, who - oh, wait, has been in DW twice) in particular is master of the snark, possibly over any other TV character ever. :-)
I realised I didn't actually say what it was - it's another BBC sf show 1978-1981, featuring Blake and his crew vs the nasty Federation, created by Terry Nation.
No, but I will get my hands on it later on in the summer. *sigh*
And, hello back. On the strength of the above (and also that I saw you have Robots of Death icons, which shows amazing taste, I've friended you. Hope you don't mind. :-)
No. Aside from the fact that I'm only now watching B7 (don't spoiler me!), I always had my own ideas about the Robots of Death characters (especially Poul) and got a little disappointed by the PDA books. I watched it the first time rather a while ago. I could probably cope these days. :-) I didn't realise they were actually B7 crossovers, although I did gather that Chris Boucher had definitely tried to put them in the same universe at some point.
Maybe sometime - when I've caught up with all of Six and Evelyn, Eight and Charley and Seven, Ace and Hex!
Bwhahahaaa! I'm always trying to get new members for kaldor_city, just stop me. Yeah, you're right, not really crossovers, and I am a massive spoiler-phobe so you won't get any from me. *hand over mouth*
Oh, I'm loving BFA so much. I'm relistening to Project Twilight because I just got the sequel, Project Lazarus. I'm also a huge fan of Erimem.
Oh, that looks like a fun comm. I'm wary about Kaldor City, but am nevertheless a huge fan of Chris Boucher snarkiness and love Robots of Death to pieces (one reason I wa always curious about Blake's 7) and have recently seen (and become scarily obsessed with) Image of the Fendahl. Hmm. Can I cheat and read the plots somewhere and join in the snark that way? Although there has to be better rehabilitation of Poul! ;-D
I dearly love Evelyn and Charley and Hex. I like what I've heard of Erimem, but I have this problem with having adventures in between Planet of Fire and Caves. But I have The Veiled Leopard freebie and very much like Erimem in that. I'm so behind with the other series anyway, I've left the rest for the moment. Once I get a bit more up to date with the others, I have my eye on Eight and Lucie next.

Date: 2009-07-19 05:22 am (UTC)LOL. Actually, I just watched a Terry Nation episode last night...
Well, one day, when I have exhausted Who watching, I may have to check this out. Sounds like it would be fun. Especially with the snarking. ;-)
Thanks for the info on the show... I wondered about it after seeing its name thrown around a bit!
