I have had two tries and I'm sure I've still got the cover scans somewhere & I'll have another go. In the meantime, I tried to salvage a handful:

ETA: Or I could do text ones... are there some typical CS things that would work? Like maybe not knowing whether it's German/French/whatever day... or... I don't know?

How about some of the forbidden slang? Like topping, rubber-necked four-flusher (or whatever it was) etc

Date: 24 Mar 2012 05:08 pm (UTC)Girls Gone By Publishers are republishing all the Chalet School books, along with Elinor M. Brent-Dyer's other books (all unabridged), but they sell out pretty fast, so buying the copies later costs a heck of a lot more. The books are usually £12 when they first come out, and really nice quality. GGBP are doing a whole stack of YA lit. If you're considering buying them, you might want to buy them ASAP. They sometimes do a reprint of a very popular book, but otherwise you're stuck paying lots for a hardcover version or paying way over the odds for a GGBP copy that's out of print.
