Just a Note...

I'm very pleased with myself because I finished UNIT: Stardust on Saturday. Especially as it seemed to be growing into some sort of plotless, sprawling monster, I was quite relieved to find, it gave up and ended even before I expected it. I'm sure anyone still reading it will be equally relieved.
Not that I've posted it all - due to writing the split action bits completely separately I was already four and a half chapters ahead of what I'd posted. I've added two more (usual Teaspoon disclaimer applying) and will post the rest at some point when I've finished tweaking the Epilogue (that could take a while).
I'm finally free to look at what else I was writing... Well, if I have time. but it's nice. So, what else is there? I have: gosh, another Six story to finish, a Christmas fic (UNIT! Mince pies! etc.), somebody's birthday fic, can't think who or why (heh), and, generally a scary amount of other things.
Oh, and I'm also very relieved to see that
calufrax seems to be back in action. And asking for reccers again. I would, but I've already done two stints this year. It seems greedy!

Date: 26 Oct 2009 10:34 pm (UTC)I'm still mulling over my Xmas fic (I want to do one); I was going to do something with UNIT, but now I think I want to do something like one of those M.R. James Xmas ghost stories. Or something.
And Calufrax wants people? I would, but I think most of the stuff I have favourited on the Spoon is stuff I got turned onto by Calufrax, so...

Date: 27 Oct 2009 08:23 am (UTC)b) Sounds great. Nothing like a Christmas ghost story!
c) I'm sorry, unless that was a polite way of saying you wouldn't touch it with a barge pole etc etc, then as an excuse that's feeble and lacks even invention and wit (which I have come to expect from you). You've been recced on there I don't know how many times, so you know what that feels like and Califrax needs you!
And: even given the unlikely scenario that everything you've ever favourited has already been recced, you can flip back through your favourited authors and even if they've had all their stuff recced, you'd still have at least 5 weeks to find something, during which time new fics get posted every day (and Calufrax has been not around for weeks, too). If that fails, find someone whose stories you like on LJ and hound them till they sign up on Teaspoon (which I would *cough* never do).
Now, stop standing here dilly-dallying and go and sign up, unless you've actually got a note from your mother or you've promised to walk K9 every day for Four right about then... ;-)
(I wondered the same thing the first time I signed up, but still I found the problem was how to narrow my choices down, not the other way around. It's easy to check what has and hasn't been done if you use the author tags, but I'm sure you'd already worked that out.)
Now, I shall stop trying to sound like my Mum and go to work, but really... ;-D (And, yes, this definitely is online bullying. Sorry, but don't give me excuses, young man!)

Date: 27 Oct 2009 08:26 am (UTC)Heh, yes, that was my plan exactly - lie low and hope it'll get into January and I can rec again in the New Year. If they don't get many over the next week or so, I shall be there. It was really good fun both times.

Date: 27 Oct 2009 08:28 am (UTC)Heh, I haven't got as many finished as you, but I was beginning to worry how long this one was going to be. I really must remember to wait a lot longer before I start posting, even when I think I have everything roughed out...

Date: 27 Oct 2009 02:05 pm (UTC)Yes, but hardly anyone is as insanely prolific as me. (I confess, I get annoyed when people say 'I churn out' fics - to me that implies no/little thought has gone into a fic and that's never true.)

Date: 27 Oct 2009 11:24 pm (UTC)I have SO got to just spend some time playing catch-up, I want to read your new Stardust chapters! Congrats on finishing it as well, that's always such a relief to finally find the way through to the end. You deserve chocolate - go forth and get some.

Date: 28 Oct 2009 07:15 pm (UTC)I have chocolate! I am existing day to day by the power of it. Sort of, anyway. Aw, thanks. I saw you read a couple. It's gone on a bit, which was why I relieved that I'd finally brought it to a close. :-)
