I got this from [livejournal.com profile] clocketpatch, although I watched it spread along my friends list all last week before I gave in!

Post below with 'Resistance is futile' to receive your own customized five question meme to answer.
Then repeat on your own journal and watch the meme-y-ness spread. As it does.

1. How do you feel about rocking chairs?
Erm. I used to be fascinated by them and wanted one when I grew up. Now I don't think about them much. I like the idea, but they never work out quite the way you want when you try to sit in them.

2. Do you believe in astrology?
No.

3. If you could meet any one historical figure, who would it be?
I have a list, but probably C S Lewis. I would love to sit at the back of one of his talks and actually see and hear him in action. I've heard it said he could make reading the telephone book interesting if he wanted to.

4. What do you think next year's biggest toy craze will be? (just make up something random, because toys are pretty random...)
Errr.... Exploding penguins, then. Just because. Who wouldn't want an exploding penguin?

5. Name one irrational fear.
Fish. And things that float in water. Is that irrational enough?

Why?

And, although I've done it 5 times before, Resistance is Futile (curious to see what questions you come up with for me!)

Because fish move in water. I have an irrational fear of things that float about in water, especially where I can't see them and they might be Alive (i e fish). And I just don't like fish. I had to dissect a sprat at primary school once and I had to be let off doing it. (It was the poke a pencil in its mouth and out its gill that did for me). You can tell I'm not great at swimming in the sea.

Intriguing...

Oh, and here was me hoping all my f-list would be sated with questions and I wouldn't have to think of anything!

:( Sorry...

1. (To borrow a now standard q): Given a trip back in time in the TARDIS, where would you go?
2. Which Doctor would you really prefer to travel with and why?
3. What was the most life-changing book you've read?
4. Are you a desk spook or a field officer? (If you were one, obviously)
5. Do you shelve your books in any order (and what)?

Interesting questions!

By the way, I couldn't work out why you were talking about not spoilering me - until I remembered ep 2 of Spooks has already aired on BBC3...

Um yes - I've got at least a couple of Spooks fans on my FList (nschick and maggi137)...

As for doing spoilers:
<*span style="color: #000000; background-color: #000000">Put your spoiler here<*/span>

Use that and take out the asterisks...

Haha, sorry about the rocking chair question. I was staring at one while trying to come up with things...

Also, I once worked at an island-based camp during a year when all the carp were dying. They'd just wash up on shore and... *shudders* THOSE ARE BIG SCARY FISH!

anyways... resistance is futile!

Ha, a glutton for punishment - if I say the same back to you, this could go on for a while! ;-)

It could indeed... lol

Unless I'm super sneaky, ignore the meme rules, and answer it right here and now, but I wouldn't do that. Would I?

1. I'd love to see Evil of the Daleks; I've seen a *very* good reconstruction (seriously, it was almost animated) but I don't think it did it justice, and the fact that we're missing a Jamie sword fight just makes me sad. After that one (because how can I pick one?) I'd say: Marco Polo, Furry from the Deep, and Enemy of the World. the burnations make me sad. :.(

2. I was always of the opinion that cake!fic cake should be light and fluffy in colour. It might be marbled, vanilla, lemon, or banana. The icing can be any colour, but sugar decorations are a must.

3. That's probably a toss-up between Ten/Jenny and... nope. That one wins. That's just the mos disturbing ship I've ever seen on or off screen. After that, we'll put Rose/Handy, and Seven/Ace. I don't see myself writing Rose Handy except -possible- as part of some humorous third installment to my Doctor's Leg series. Seven/Ace are a bit too much like father and daughter for me to see that one through, but I can almost see where those people are coming from, and Nemo_the_Everbeing on the 'spoon wrote some good shippy stuff with adult Ace, so, maybe...

4. Oh! I found a ceramic glyph! And it was shaped like the letter 'J' and it was the only glyph found on the site since the British museum raided it in the 20s (and those glyphs have all been lost in storage ala the Lost Arc). Alas, I didn't find the rest of the pot so we couldn't translate. The coolest thing the team found was a cache of effigy blades (see the bottom illustration on this link for an example: http://www.arrowheadphotos.com/pages/foreign.htm). I'm still mad because the actual pictures I took of them got ate by my camera.

5. Let's not kid ourselves, I'd be Other Dave in the Library episodes. (this, even though I'm never going to be 'Other' anything since my name's a bit... unique)

Er, yes, actually, the next chapter is really coming along on that. I might be able to get it to you by the end of the week. Maybe. Hopefully.

Furry from the Deep

I'm not sure I'd want to see that, if it weren't just a typo.

(...it is just a typo, isn't it?)
