1. It is snowing!!! I mean, there is white stuff on the ground, although currently it is more snowing sidewise and not doing much, but I could totally build a snowman in my backyard, which is more than I could have said since I don't know how long. (I live in the NE, but by the sea in a valley, so snow is normally mythical stuff you get up on the hills.)


2. In the nicest possible surprise ending to the recent fic_rush query, Beth came back! \o/ Anyone who is a former member of fic_rush or who would be interested in taking part in future rounds (where we encourage each other to get (mainly writerly*) things done over 48 hours), should hoy themselves over to fic_rush as soon as they are able. All are welcome.



3. I've looked up more weird stuff for my WWII generals fic in the last two days than I have for anything for ages. (I mean, there's stuff where all you need is canon, and fic where you read whole books, and fic where you keep looking random things up... and then there's fic where you really hope nobody's monitoring your Googling too hard because they might be getting the wrong idea, and this one turned out to definitely be the latter.)


But fic_rush anyway, people! ;-)

(Goodness knows where those ninja penguins might have got to over the past year - it's going to take some time to gather them back in...)

It is! At least, if you live in a town where usually you just glimpse other people having it high off on the hills. :-D

LOL, nothing worse than I threatened, or they are doing to themselves already! But when you start looking up things that Nazis might sing at dinner parties in the 1930s or the Anglo-German Fellowship among too many other things to mention, yr browser history starts looking v questionable!

It's a bit less fluffy today, but still very cold! We're having a polar vortex or something and the media are having fun calling it "the Beast from the East". (Which gives you internet clickbait headlines like "Trains cancelled by Beast from the East!" except it is only snow, and except in Scotland, not all that much snow!!)

We never have snow here too as it's warmer in the East usually and now there's snowdrifts and everything, a village near me is officially cut off! It's moving to being not fun as the side roads have turned to ice and the main road which is the main route here has snow on it.

Yes, it's definitely getting on the icier, less fun side round here, but oh well. I'm sure we'll be having a heatwave and grumbling about that next! Make snowmen while you can...

Hooray for your snow! It's bloody cold out there though! That wind is positively painful (especially when you have to walk to work at 06:50). Quite pretty though, isn't it.

Ah yes, the joys of fic research! My latest ones have mostly just required me to look up the Critical Role transcripts, terribly boring... You have reminded me of the existence of little_details which I'd most track of since mostly moving to dreamwidth over LJ, though.

It hasn't snowed since, though, and it hasn't gone away, so it's just getting more impacted and icier right now - much less fun! Still, we may get some more or it may melt - the temp is forecast to get to 1 degrees tonight and tomorrow!!

We had snow and sideways snow too! Daisy rolled in the snow for awhile and then came in before the carers left so I didn't have to put up with an opn window.
