For belantana who (foolishly!) wanted (my OC) Tilly, getting to grips with some new-fangled invention. (It had to be AU Tilly, really.)


First Battle

First, she’d wondered why it wasn’t working; an awkward thing and less use than the Professor’s carpet sweeper.

Then she’d seen the lead, and she knew what that meant. So she unwound the tangled wire and connected it. It started with a roar that made her jump out of her skin and when, determined not to be outdone by a thing, she started pushing it around, it ate things. She sat hastily, tugging out the plug.

Why, she thought, glaring, anyone had carpets you couldn’t hang outside and beat, she didn’t know. That contraption was a nuisance, not a convenience.

Heeee, this is fabulous! I cannot get enough of Tilly's determination not to be done over by the complications of time travel. I especially love it ate things. Yay!
