Icon Repost - 53 x Heyer Quote Icons

I was feeling a bit fed up with not doing very much and remembered that I am supposed to be replacing some of the icons I lost many moons ago when someone hotlinked to something and ate my entire PhotoBucket usage. And these were by far the most popular set. (I was tempted to redo some of them, but I suppose I shall just point out that I made them several years ago and would do things differently now.)

Well, she comes with a side-order of mid 20thC attitudes, but she is still also a lot of fun.

Are they all Georgette Heyer quotes? She's more entertaining than I'd previously given her credit for. ;) "I am far too drunk to solve arithmetical problems" is rather lovely, and "I promise faithfully not to blow the house up" is the sort of thing one should encounter far more often. "I must say, it's a devilish queer story" is another favourite; but far and away the best is "I am haunted by waistcoats". It may be one of the finest sentences in the English language. Bravo!

(I can hear a voice saying it, but I'm not sure whose it is yet. Possibly Rupert Graves.)

I've only read a single Heyer, so I don't recognize most of these, but the icons are super lovely, and the quotes are very amusing! No wonder this was a much-missed set!

Thanks! And, yes, they're still the icons by me that I'm most likely to find strangers still using. They were a lot of fun to make - I do enjoy doing text icons. I should do some more!

Oh, my - I've never read Heyer, but some of these are delightfully silly (and also spot-on for some of my moods. I shall take some, credit, and be fully afforded of their brilliance.)

Thanks! And, funnily enough, I was going through the friending meme this afternoon & noted down a few names where we had stuff in common and maybe should friend - one of which was yours. (I think my entry is around p8 if you want to go see, but I love Classic Who, history and genealogy, used to be a children's librarian, we both like Heyer, and otherwise I generally spend a lot of time watching more old British telly than is good for anyone.) So if you'd like to add/friend me, that'd be cool! (Also if not, especially since I leapt out at you here and not on the meme.)

I've wandered back to DW recently after giving up on tumblr and I've just been nosing around, looking for DW communities that might interest me - and one of them led me to this post.

These are great! Felix! Drusilla! and a bunch of other old friends. I don't remember the one about the waistcoats. Obviously it's time for another Heyer reread.
