I am, I think, finally beginning to feel a tad better, but I won't swear to it. Hopefully brain will be more forthcoming, but I won't hold my breath for that either.

In the meantime, some things:

1. the Yuletide tagset has been revealed and is full of interesting/promising things. I am now eager to see letters and requests. Which reminds me, I must work on my own...

2. A tumblr post about the Blake's 7 team and the fact that Star Wars came out while they were in the middle of making S1: Fuck this, David, I'm going home. (Liberator is still the best space ship anyway. ;-p)

3. An OUaT-ladies vid I liked, from a few years ago now, but good: Blown Away.

No Shakespeare's Histories this year, not even Richard II! I see AAL has got in though and I'm surprised to see 'The Borgias' in there. It's new(ish), it's pretty: shouldn't it have loads of fics? And all the wrong Dumas characters, lol.

I know! My bad;p I was surprised 'Richard II' wasn't there as it usually gets nommed, and I've checked AO3 and there's no Histories Ficathon 2018 either. I think they've fallen into tumblr never to return!

The problem with liking old things nobody else does is I think everything else must be a superfandom, although when I think about it, 'The Borgias' are more about the visuals;)

A big hurrah to (hopefully) fighting off viruses!

"Star Wars" may have been a trifle disconcerting to the crowd working on B7, but they can at least rest easy at having produced the superior product. Okay, so it's made with cardboard and sticky tape, but as long as Ben Steed gets swept quietly under the carpet, B7 is clearly better written. And has better characters. And a giant, wobbly ant.

(I know, but the giant ant was too big to fit under the carpet.)

The design work on B7 was truly inspired. The ships were definitely better looking than anything on "Star Wars"; and even if I do love the Millennium Falcon, she ain't no Liberator. And you're quite right about the women. B7 didn't always treat them terribly well, but they were there, and they had their own strengths and abilities. And one of them was black. SW only managed one black person until recently too.

I've been happily poking around in the Yuletide tagset, even though I'm not participating -- it's so nice to just see excitement for my tiny fandoms!

And glad to hear you're feeling better. Fingers crossed that it stays that way!

Fuck this, David, I'm going home.

What is the organic produce story?

(I'm glad they made it anyway. I don't like monomyths any more than I like monopolies.)
