1. I went into town today so I am tired again (brain. what is that?) I made some gifs, though, so that was something. Also, of course, I went into town and now have a) pens that my Dad claimed weren't in Smiths (Dad, you don't look hard enough! /ungrateful daughter) and b) chocolate and c) books from a charity shop. (One from a crime series I hadn't heard of that looks fun, and another that is on the Norman Conquest to join my pile of books to be read on the Norman Conquest.)

Yes, a Brit who is a fan of I Love Lucy. Although to be fair, my Husband is American and introduced me to it (along with Car 54, Where Are You?, The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Honeymooners). We're only 32 and 31, but we love old sitcoms.

Yes, it had some really great costumes. There were also some very impressive hats in the first half of the series. They took up half the screen.

Does make you wonder how on earth people got about in ye olde days, without taking each others eyes out with their epaulettes or something. Possibly that's why they were always having so many wars.

That's why they had to be so formal. The rest of us were just wearing aprons and smocks and tugging our forelocks. No smocks for us!

Isn't Cherie Lunghi so beautiful? If Game of Thrones had been made back in the 70s/80s I would have cast her in one of the main roles.
Perhaps Margaery Tyrell when Cherie was a young adult. Or Catelyn Stark when she was older.

Cherie is MY Guinevere. I love the Excalibur film she's in from 1981.

She is indeed. I mean, I'd seen her in plenty of things, so I knew that, but not in anything quite so far back until this. (And then she turned up in the next thing I watched too.)

And thank you. And, aha, so that's where mine vanished off to. (I think they gave some of the bookshelves to the charity shop next door.) I'm glad yours has reapeared although also a bit jealous. I miss it! Even aside from FREE BOOKS (and is there an aside from that?) it was a nice place to sit down in town, which helps me a lot in not being so ill afterwards. (I sit down on benches now, but it isn't as good and I won't stay sitting there.)

If my free book shop can reappear after a year so can yours, if your town centre has lots of empty shops!

Aw, sorry a nice sitting spot has gone for you. In the new free book there's only the floor and it looks a bit grotty.
