Crossover Bingo Round 1
Jun. 15th, 2019 09:42 amI haven't been around so much the last couple of days for various reasons, so apologies if I've not been commenting so much. (I was family historying and then I went out.)
However, in predictable things, I signed up for
crossoverbingo after all. You have to choose 2-4 fandoms for the crossover before you start, which is a bit limiting, but I think actually could work well for me - it gives me a specific target of writing 5 out of 6 possible unique crossovers to get a bingo, and it might make up for the lack of
intoabar this year. (I'm a bit sad it wasn't at least 5, though, as then I could have thrown in S&S, too! Due to way too much binge-watching of Lucifer, I switched it out for that at the last minute.)
Also, in other important news, as you can see, I have a Jenkins icon. He is probably worrying about what I might do with him in my efforts to achieve a bingo. (Sorry, Jenkins.)
At the moment, I'm looking at the top horizontal line, as I accidentally wrote (in rough) a fic for "death fic" while thinking that I would never write that square for a crossover, and also it's hard to resist the square "Cassandra" when you've picked The Librarians as one of your fandoms.

Date: 2019-06-15 04:06 pm (UTC)and oh yeah, Librarians and Lucifer.....that could be fun
I haven't any ideas for that particular combo yet, but it certainly ought to be!

Date: 2019-06-15 01:59 pm (UTC)Those are some fairly interesting prompts, though. I bet you'll do some fun things with them!
Lucifer, by the way, is definitely on my endless list of things I want to watch, although possibly not in the very near future, as I'm still busy obsessing inconveniently over Good Omens, and there may only be room for so many demons in my brain at once. :)

Fair enough! Which, of course, is only all the more reason to watch The Librarians next instead! ;-p
I got Lucifer S1 for my b'day and spent the first 5 episodes having v mixed reactions, and then at Ep5 it went up several gears and I got strangely addicted. I have watched S1-3 by means of b;day spoils and then even pirated S4. So, er, yeah. I think, given that there's the devil, an angel, a demon and a bunch of cops, one child, and one therapist, it makes for an interesting selection of random relationship - a whole lot of fishes out of water. And I am a sucker for a good fish out of water thing.
I should think watching it next to any other angels and demons would either instigate immediate crossovers or just confusion, and while one of those would be an excellent result, the other less so!!
I hear we're getting Good Omens in the autumn on BBC, so I shan't be too long behind the rest of the world. And, of course, I read the book many moons ago, although my memories are a bit vague by now.

Oh, god. Well, maybe after I finish the five or six other things I'm also watching next. :)

Someone recommended it to me a little while back as a sort of addictive guilty pleasure, and, hey, I like addictive guilty pleasures, usually without feeling much of a sense of guilt about them at all. I don't even know all that much about it, but "the devil, an angel, a demon and a bunch of cops, one child, and one therapist" sounds up my alley.

Heh, my brain is already sort of torn between wanting All the Crossovers with the angel and demon I already have, and being quite sure none of them would work whatsoever.

So were mine. I actually think having read the book, but long enough ago not to remember it well, may be the ideal way of approaching the TV show. I remembered just enough of the book to feel very, very happy about seeing it brought to life in a way I greatly enjoyed, but not enough to spend the entire time consciously comparing the show to the book and wondering why they'd left this in or changed that.

but "the devil, an angel, a demon and a bunch of cops, one child, and one therapist" sounds up my alley.
I had sort of osmosed it as being darker than it was, and so the random team-ups and comedy and singing was not quite what I'd expected. But definitely in a good way! :-D

It so often is! Few things spoil an adaptation as quickly as knowing the book too well. Especially when it starts to feel as if you know it much better than the adaptor ever tried to.

It really is as well I have to wait a bit for Good Omens, otherwise I'd be combining it with Lucifer and S2 of The Good Place, which Ch4 suddenly coughed up, and I feel that might be a bit much for heaven, hell and assorted angels and demons.

Date: 2019-06-15 11:40 pm (UTC)It does continue to sound more and more appealing. (Not that I don't like dark, also, but, hey.)

Oh, hell, yes. Although at least in this case the adaptor is one of the authors so at least that's not a problem.

Ha, yes. Yes, I'd think it really would be. But yay for The Good Place! (That's definitely one where my brain sort of goes "Oooh, wouldn't that be a great crossover!" and then seizes up trying to imagine it. :))

Date: 2019-06-16 07:38 pm (UTC)Yes, because in most cases, you'd have to kill people to do it, I suppose? A slight downer.
I am enjoying S2, although slightly miffed about the fact that, having been provided with the episodes for free, I can only watch one a week in the old-fashioned way. They're so short, it's cruelty to viewers. :-D

Date: 2019-06-16 08:07 pm (UTC)And, yeah, I felt much the same thing about having gotten caught up and having to watch one a week as they came out. It's a show you just want to keep watching and watching. (As I just mentioned to someone elsewhere, I think it's the only example of me binge-watching a season of a show and then immediately turning around and re-watching it all again.)
