(I'm doing them in posts, just to be different. And so I can waffle or have pics if I want. ;-p)
persiflage_1 asked for Top 5 Liz Shaw fics (your own or others - don't be shy about blowing your own trumpet!)
Okay, this was hard to narrow down enough without attempting to blow my own trumpet, so here goes, focusing mainly on Liz rather than on ships as such, and not necessarily in any actual order as such, because that's too hard:
1. House Guest by Gary Merchant (I like that what happens in this is the opposite way round to what you'd expect, it's nice.)
2. Memory by Persiflage (very sweet Eight and Liz, which Pers wrote for me ages ago)
3. The Man in the Brown Tweed Jacket by nonelvis (Liz and Twelve at a conference, it's great)
4. What a Woman Can Do by llywela (great little character study)
5. Going Home by phantomlistener (a gorgeous overview of Liz's life)
And since Pers did ask for me to blow my own trumpet, I think my favourite of my Liz stories is the first Silver/Liz one I did (which is very much more Liz than Silver) - Scientific Spirit (or Five Times Liz Shaw met Silver).
(I'll get to David Collings presently!!)
For
scripsi Doctor Who episodes (or serials, presumably, I don't think I could be here going on about episode 3 of six). So, ignoring the fact that I still feel weird about DW right now:
1. Ghostlight
2. The Robots of Death
3. The Aztecs
4. The Eleventh Hour
5. The Happiness Patrol
*prepares to fight over Ghostlight and Happiness Patrol which are awesome*
john_amend_all wanted Crack pairings, and I'm not sure what even counts as a crack pairing and do they need to exist or just seem cool? Here goes, on the basis of mostly "I just thought of them and they could totally be a terrifying thing.
1. Silver/Any sufficiently intelligent artificial intelligence
2. Servalan/Palpatine (please appreciate that I nominated it for
space_swap, even though I am not getting it, because I've shaken my gift (it looks v shiny and much less scary). Like, what would happen? It would be amazing and terrifying.
3. Jenna/Steel (I kind of wrote this one, it was cool)
4. The Master/Servalan (bonus for Delgado or Missy)
5. Bill Potts/Kara Danvers (it would be very cute)
(Probably if I raided my 15 Characters tag, I could do better, but it'll do for today.)
He also asked for Female villains
1. Servalan (no surprises here)
2. Missy
3. Milady
4. Cora Mills
5. Cruella de Vil (OUaT version especially)
(I'd put Regina here, but tbh I definitely love her more when she's working on redemption, so I think she doesn't quite count. Even if she is also amazing when evil.)

Date: 25 Mar 2020 08:30 pm (UTC)Ghostlight is beautiful and literary and layered and gothic and weird and has great Seven-Ace stuff and I might be prejudiced in its favour. XD
THP is very weird but very awesome!

Date: 27 Mar 2020 09:58 am (UTC)270) A Question of Intent by Merline Lovelace
U.S. Army Major Servalan was used to giving orders, not taking them — so when she met brusque Commander Sheev Palpatine, the medical officer in charge of her top secret mission, she was a little taken aback. Of course she was also taken with him — a problem, because despite his sterling credentials, she wasn't exactly sure who he was. Or where he came from...
Sheev had always maintained military and medical protocol at all costs, and he wasn't about to stop now — which meant a hands-off policy as far as a certain lovely army major was concerned. But it was all for the best, Sheev told himself. He had secrets to keep — and they were best kept at a distance. She was best kept at a distance....
374) The Tea Shop on Lavender Lane - Sheila Roberts
When it comes to men, sisters don't share!
After a fake food poisoning incident in L.A., Sheev Palpatine's dreams of becoming a caterer to the stars collapse faster than a soufflé. Now Sheev's face is in all the gossip rags and his business is in ruins. But the Palpatine men close ranks and bring him back to Icicle Falls, where he'll stay with his brother Rumplestiltskin.
All goes well between the siblings until Sheev comes up with a new business idea - a tea shop on a charming street called Lavender Lane. He's going into partnership with Servalan, who - it turns out - is the woman Rumplestiltskin's started dating. It looks to Rumplestiltskin as if there's more than tea brewing in that cute little shop. And he's not pleased.
Wait! Isn't Rumplestiltskin seeing the Master? He's a widower with an adorable little girl, and yes, Rumplestiltskin does care about him. But Servalan's the one who sends his zing-o-meter off the charts. So now what? Should you have to choose between your brother and the woman you love (or think you love)?
(Okay, that one is amazing, just because it somehow knew to group all the villains together.)
519) One Night With A Rake by Louise Allen
[Amy Pond / Obi-Wan Kenobi]
Beautiful widow Amy Pond woke up in a strange bed, lying next to a tall, dark, very handsome stranger!
Knocked out in a stagecoach accident, they'd been rescued and it had been assumed that they were married - reason enough to put them to bed in the same room!
Amy had no idea who the man was - but, intriguingly, neither did he! The obviously wealthy gentleman had lost his memory, and was without two guineas in his pocket. Now Amy felt obliged to take the gorgeous stranger under her wing - and continue the pretence that they were husband and wife...
Tbf, does seem like something Amy would do.
