Some elemental things

So, I was feeling really flat and tired again yesterday and today, so yesterday I made a historical gifset with Copper and Silver (which I'd been talking about wanting to do to
theseatheseatheopensea) here on tumblr.

And today I thought I would do another OC Element, and finally found the perfect one for Dennis Alaba Peters (who was in Department S and I've been wanting to use him, partly because he was actually an opera singer and has a splendid voice, which always helps) - here's Carbon, or a potential Carbon anyway:

Anyway, maybe it's a bit too Sir Curtis-like, but imagining him as sort of senior element who wanders in and out vaguely and casually sorts things while being surprised other Elements found it difficult. ("Ah, Steel. Not still having trouble regulating your temperature, are you? I thought you fixed that half a century ago!")
The tumblr post is somewhere in the queue, but it'll turn up here in time.

Date: 18 Apr 2020 09:24 pm (UTC)I *love* your headcanon for Carbon, and having it be Sir Curtis-ish is very appropriate, I rather like such a vital Element having a no-nonsense, business-like presence! :D (He would totally run the whole Elemental operation! Would that crossover be called "Department E"? hehehe)
And the Silver+Copper one is very lovely and shiny, of course!
I hope you're feeling better! <3 Take care! <3

A senior element, def. I don't know if he would run it all, but it's kind of tempting to imagine that Sir Curtis is Carbon and has a small human team for checking out the weird things that turn out not to be at all time-related. XD

Date: 19 Apr 2020 02:12 pm (UTC)Ohh, I love the idea of an Element having a human team, but I also would like a "Department E" that wasn't human, only because it's just too tempting to imagine Jason King as an Element. Would he be something like neon? Or chromium? I don't know what the most obnoxious, shiny element would be! :D

I don't know - something at least a bit toxic as well, I should think. But bright and shiny and useful!
I can't see them as elements as they are, but, heh, interesting thoughts...

Maybe not a "proper" Element (we know it's allowed in canon, haha) so it could be a gem like Emerald, which is shiny and kind of toxic? Or lapislazuli? Yes... I also can't see them as elements exactly as they are in canon, but the AU is fun to think about, hehe.

Date: 21 Apr 2020 05:25 pm (UTC)And Steel would have to behave - he's formed from Carbon and Iron himself!!

Date: 28 Jan 2021 09:03 pm (UTC)Actually, I think I do know - or recognize, at least - the character of Jason King. There was a time in my teenage years when we got various ITV things that would play late at night, like "The Champions" and I would sneak downstairs to the livingroom whilst my Nana was in the kitchen, and I'd turn the TV on very low, place my face altogether too close to the screen, and watch the shows. And I think Jason King was someone that showed up. Was he in more than one show?

I've watched and loved Department S, where he's part of a team, but there's a solo spin-off that I haven't seen (I'm not sure I want Jason without the rest of Dept S) just called Jason King.
