I signed up for [community profile] genprompt_bingo again! (You're shocked, I'm sure). And now I have this lovely card to play with:

Imprisonment Winners and Losers Fix-its May Morning Yes, but is it Art?
Worst case scenario Virtue and Vice Mirror, mirror: Doppelgangers, clones and evil doubles A Battle / Fight / Confrontation Superpowers
Factories and other Industrial Spaces Angst Wild CardThe Nature of the Soul / Consciousness Touch
Surreality Early Morning Someone calls in a Favour Trust College / University / Education
The North Wind doth Blow Steel It was a Dark and Stormy Night Historical AU Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics

I also got my [community profile] intoabar assignment this morning, which is: Silver walks into a bar and meets... Regina Mills! And, lol, I could have come up with that crossover myself, [community profile] intoabar! It'll be fun anyway.

That is a great bingo card!

And, ha!, yes, I was scrolling through the [community profile] intoabar assignments to see what everyone had gotten, and I literally laughed out loud when I saw yours. It really is just so very you as to be almost boring as a challenge assignement! But I'm sure you'll do something fun and interesting with it, and I look forward to reading it. And, selfishly, I am very glad you're writing two fandoms I actually know.

Especially as, I swear, every time this challenge happens, there are fewer and fewer matchups where I know both, or even just one of the characters. It makes me feel downright out of touch, I tell ya! Although every time, there are also always a few combinations that I find utterly delightful. This time... Man, I think I would pay actual money to see Discworld's Death meeting Jason Mendoza. :)

For my own part, I'm amused because I was sitting around yesterday wondering if being brave and insane enough to sign up for Doctor Who as a whole was going to bite me in the ass, and thinking of a few possible characters that would probably be in the "doable, but not necessarily easy or exciting" category for me, and, wouldn't you know it, I ended up getting one of the first ones I thought of! Only now that I have the assignment actually in front of me, I may be seeing some potentially fun things to do with it, so no doubt all will be well.

But i'm sure it will be fun and I think I know how to do it, so that's good.

Yay! Obvious for you or not, it does seem like a potentially cool combination of characters and canons to play with.

Jason would never ever get that it wasn't a cool costume. XD

LOL! Yeah, he totally wouldn't.

Ha, what are the odds? (Always good, it seems.)

I know! Last time, out of four canons with big ensemble casts, I somehow managed to get the one character I was hoping not to have to write! Although that one turned out fine, so, hey.

I mean, they both know a thing or two about memory wipes from opposite ends and being dictated to by computer programming and they've both existed in some weird realities

Heh, I hadn't even thought about anything that complicated yet. Maybe I'll manage something that profound, or maybe they'll just get tipsy and talk about their exciting adventures and whether or not Michael's existence makes any scientific sense. I dunno. :)

Whatever I end up writing for them, I think I'm gonna have to do a bit of canon review first. It's been ages and ages since I watched much in the way of Troughton episodes -- which, now that I think about it, seems like a shame that ought to be rectified for its own sake. I'm not 100% sure what I even have available, though. I might just end up witching "The Mind Robber" for the fifth or sixth time, and while that's always a good way to spend an afternoon, I'm not entirely sure how useful it is in getting Zoe's character down enough to feel better about writing her. Well, we will see!

I almost signed up with Ripper Street, because I thought that could be particularly interesting with Silver and then wondered about what would happen if they counted the not-a-werewolf from S5, or I got that one character who's the only one anyone in Yuletide cares about and I therefore no longer want to write?

The odds of something like that are low enough that it kind of seems like it should be okay to risk it, except that past experience really does demonstrate that random chance is not really our friend. :)

The thought of re-watching "The War Games" is surprisingly tempting, although, yeah, that is quite the investment of time. And "The Krotons..." You know, I don't think I've seen "The Krotons" since some time in the 1980s. I don't remember loving it, which is probably why I haven't watched it since then, but the thought of "the Doctor and Zoe being smug geniuses at each other for ten minutes" does have its appeal.

Haha, it's a good metaphor for the whole writing process. No inspiration for months... and then 10 WIPs at once!

Good luck! *throws inspiration glitter*
