Just Married Letter 2020

Dear
justmarriedexchange creator,
Thank you for signing up to make something for me!
My letters tend to be on the long side, so tl;dr: I love all kinds of things, I love these fandoms/pairings and adore cracky marriage tropes, so as long as you avoid my DNWs, I'll love whatever you come up with. I've mostly included freeforms that should work as prompts, so I haven't added much more explanation, unless it seemed to need it. All other details are intended for inspiration, not to restrict your choices. Take what's useful and leave what isn't, and I hope you have fun.
That said, here is the long version...
General
Likes: hurt/comfort, rescues, fantasy, history, mysteries, ghosts, casefic, time travel, time loops, crossovers, banter, humour, missing scenes, tropes, trope subversion, trust issues, sensible people dealing with ridiculous tropes, trapped together, fake marriages/marriage of conveniences, accidental marriage, forced to work together, x times format, epistolary, apocalypse, spies/disguises, winning through hard times to happy endings, comedy of manners/cultural differences, canon divergence AUs, fantastical AUs for mundane canons, historical AUs.
Ship-wise, I prefer implied sex or lead-ins/sensuality to it over explicit/graphic scenes - emotions, touch/sensation, first times, undressing, hands, historical costumes, kissing, love conveyed by acts not words.
In terms of marriage tropes, for the most part I am here for all the cracky reasons you can come up with to marry off a pairing, really.
DNWs: over-eating/greed, character bashing, genderswap, age regression, pregnancy (save where canonical), incest, rape, porn without plot, kidfic, issuefic, non-canonical body horror/unexpected physical transformations*, non-canonical identity headcanons, a/b/o, unrequested fusions, highschool AUs.
* vampires in Dracula are obviously okay!
I'm on AO3 under the same name -
thisbluespirit.
My requests are all for fic, but I am very much open to art treats if anyone felt kind enough to make me anything.
1. Crossover Fandom
Sixth Doctor (DW 1963)/Clara Oswald (DW 2005)
I love multi-era Doctor Who stories, and Six, and Clara, and Clara splinters, so any way you bring them together will work for me) and regardless of whether you ship them for real or just throw them into some cracky situation and watch them deal as the Doctor and companion is up to you. I was in two minds as to nom them as / or &, so basically either way is great as you prefer, or the muse dictates!
Accidental Marriage
A Accidentally Marries Alternate Version of B (with all those Claras running about, this sort of thing is bound to happen, right?)
Alien Artifact Creates Marriage
Aliens Make Them Get Married
Aliens Think They're Married
Bureaucratically Arranged Marriage (one of those weird dystopian governments they need to take down from the inside?)
Character A and Character B Must Pretend to Be Married For the Inheritance (Random, like they need to stop the actual heir getting their hands on a dangerous thing, or splinter!Clara needs to inherit over a wicked cousin? But I could see them getting so into it. Very AmDram and 1930s Murder Party all over the place. Or something else entirely that you're thinking of, of course...)
Characters Keep "Forgetting" to Annul Accidental Marriage
Fake Marriage
Getting married repeatedly
Getting Married to Avoid Otherwise-Likely Marriage to Unbearable Third Party
Honeymoon Heist
Marriage to get spouse out of or keep spouse out of jail
Marrying Someone To Save Their Life
Person Mistaken For Mail-Order Spouse and Goes With It
Series of Mishaps Prevent Annulment of Accidental Marriage
Suddenly There Are Two Of Spouse
Time Travel Backward To Fix The Past Also Results In Unexpectedly Getting Married
Woke Up Married
Fandom DNWs: any mentions of the S12 finale. (I'm still working on dealing with it.)
2. Crossover Fandom
Ruth Evershed (Spooks)/Rupert Giles (BtVS)
I think they'd be such a great pairing, however unlikely, given the combination of mundane and supernatural fandoms. But Ruth is equal to anything and Giles's fandom allows for just about anything to happen. Maybe they run into each other during Ruth's exile, maybe it's a complete AU, or one where MI5 in the Buffyverse has to deal with supernatural problems, maybe Ruth is monitoring the Watchers because they seem like a possible threat. I think they'd be an amazing combination, but probably with initial disagreements over their respective career choices.
We Each Agreed To Marry An Unknown Person But Why Did It Have To Be YOU
Time Loop Can Only Be Ended Through Marriage
Time Travel Backward To Fix The Past Also Results In Unexpectedly Getting Married
Switching places with Alternate Universe Married Counterparts
Resurrection Ritual Requires Marriage
Pretending to be married while undercover
People Stuck in Time Loop Get Married and then Time Loop Ends Unexpectedly
Marrying Someone For Their Library
Fake/Joke Online Marriage Unexpectedly Becomes Real
Marrying for a prophecy
Character Casts Marriage Spell and Ends Up Married to Wrong Person
Accidental Marriage
3. Crossover Fandom
Sheev Palpatine (SW PT)/Servalan (B7)
I'm thinking mainly of politicking Prequel Era Palpatine, but with this cracky evil duo, whatever inspires you is good. I think they'd be entertaining and terrifying together and Servalan might even inadvertently save the Galaxy on her way out. (I feel sure that Servalan would still win in the end in this scenario somehow.) As with Mace/Soolin below, write it as a straight crossover or a fusion as works best for you.
Suspected or Confirmed Traitor Forced To Marry Spouse Who'll Monitor Them For Further Treachery
Widowed at the Wedding
Someone's trying to kill me and I think it's my spouse
political marriage where one partner plans to kill their spouse (although only one partner being murderous seems like an underestimation)
Marrying Your Enemy
Marrying someone to prevent someone else doing so (can't let someone else have the political advantage of marrying the supreme leader of the galaxy, whichever galaxy it is, right?)
Marrying to save your kingdom
Marriage of Convenience
Marriage for politics
Marriage for propaganda purposes
Marriage As Political Tool
Keeping One's True/Secret Identity from One's Spouse
Getting Married To Avoid A Diplomatic Incident
Fake Marriage for PR Reasons
Arranged Marriage
Accidental Marriage
Ridiculously Elaborate Wedding Dress (It's Servalan. If it's in the GFFA, it's Servalan in the Prequel Era. That will be one seriously amazing wedding outfit.)
4. Crossover Fandom
Soolin (B7)/Mace Windu (SW PT)
I was thinking about B7/SW combinations a while back and can't get this one out of my head. I think they'd be very cool indeed, and I'd just love to see whatever you come up with. I'm fine with a straight crossovers or a fusion where one or the other has always been part of the other universe (especially Soolin in the GFFA) as works best for you. They'd also be an excellent battle couple (Jedi Order permitting), and it might give Soolin a chance to come to terms with her broken past. I'm sure Mace would be willing to help see justice done, at least.
Accidental Marriage
Aliens Make Them Get Married
Aliens Think They're Married
Character Volunteers to Marry Condemned Criminal to Save Them from Punishment

Marrying for a prophecy
People Stuck in Time Loop Get Married and then Time Loop Ends Unexpectedly
Pretending to be married while undercover
Series of Mishaps Prevent Annulment of Accidental Marriage
Time Loop Can Only Be Ended Through Marriage
5. Department S
Annabelle Hurst/Jason King/Stewart Sullivan
I love these three and their complementary skills and natures and want them to stay together for good, basically. So, let them live in a world where Jason will never stop coming back to his hotel room to find Stewart on the bed or Annabelle checking up on him, however that works. Also, given their line of work, there are plenty of opportunities for random and cracky accidental marriage incidents as well as undercover fake married scenarios between any combination of the three of them, so have fun. (I couldn't quite see Sir Curtis lowering his dignity enough to join a random marriage, but if you want to include him in your fic, he's always a bonus.)
Accidental Marriage
Accidentally Included Unwitting Third Party In Marriage
Accidentally married to two persons
Characters Keep "Forgetting" to Annul Accidental Marriage
Everyone Thought They Were Already Married
Fake Marriage to Gain Inheritance
Friend Basically Part of the Marriage at This Point (even though he would dispute the fact at length. To both of them in their shared hotel room over a nightcap while playing cards)
Getting married repeatedly

Pretending to be married while undercover
Series of Mishaps Prevent Annulment of Accidental Marriage
Time Loop Can Only Be Ended Through Marriage
Work Partnerships Considered Marriages
6. Dracula (TV 1968)
Mina Harker/John Seward/Lucy Weston
Jonathan Harker/Mina Harker/John Seward
John Seward/Lucy Weston
Mina Harker/John Seward
As long as there are unlikely Victorian Gothic shenanigans and one hapless fainting Victorian gent involved, I'll be happy. For the Jonathan/Mina/John prompt, I was thinking of post-canon in particular, as a where to next for the surviving trio, but you don't need to be limited by that, as long as you focus on the trio and not just Mina/Jonathan. AUs are fine, preferably keeping the Victorian setting, whether canon divergence or different supernatural threats destabilising their world, but honestly, if you have some cool other setting idea, then I'm sure I'll love that too. And let's face it, weird rituals involving weddings aren't much less worse or more outlandish than some of Van Helsing's other ideas. (I also love Mina/Lucy if that's your thing, so am happy for mentions of it. I just wanted things involving John in particular this time, because my heart is not deterred by terrible fake hair and wants what it wants, sorry.)
About to Marry Someone Else But Dead Previous Spouse is Actually Alive (or Undead as the case may be)
Accidentally Included Unwitting Third Party In Marriage
Blood Ritual Accidentally Results in Marriage
Bringing someone back to life constitutes marriage
Character A Marries Character B's Ghost To Resurrect Them
Getting married repeatedly
Ghost Marriage
Magic Ritual Requires Marriage
Marriage Accidentally Had Unfortunate Consequences
Marriage for protection
Marriage to Stop Eldritch Forces From Re-Entering The World
Married To Save Each Other's Lives
People Stuck in Time Loop Get Married and then Time Loop Ends Unexpectedly
Possession Is Legally Considered Marriage (I'm assuming this to be supernatural possession)
Resurrection Ritual Requires Marriage
Time Loop Can Only Be Ended Through Marriage
Time Travel Backward To Fix The Past Also Results In Unexpectedly Getting Married
Vampire siring is marriage
7. Sapphire & Steel
Sapphire/Silver/Steel
Sapphire & Steel being a bit different to most things, I was thinking of weddings that become assignments because they are full of traditions (so dangerous!!), but also possibly Sapphire, Silver, and Steel as a particularly super-efficient 'elemental' trio, linked as they are, being their equivalent of married (not that Steel would admit to such a thing), or accidentally getting further linked together in the course of an assignment. Ditto them trapped in some fake reality/dream/whatever where they think they're married (or any combination of them are married) and the other(s) has to rescue them, or they are accidentally human married during an assignment and, while obv. it isn't binding for them, Sapphire & Silver have great fun considering themselves married forever after while Steel complains about their lack of logic. Basically have fun with the OT3 and weird marriage scenarios and I'll be happy. I love their other-ness, so please don't humanise them too much, though (except, of course, if it's Time doing weird things to stop them/trap them as usual.)
The freeforms are therefore a mix of prompts that could wind up with humans needing the intervention of Sapphire, Silver and Steel as well as some that might apply more to the three of them, but play with them as you will, really. I mean, it's S&S, after all...
Accidentally Group Married
Accidentally married an AU version of loved one
Crashing a Wedding to Prevent a Bad Marriage (or one that would cause the corridor to break etc etc.)
Everyone Thought They Were Already Married
Fake/Joke Online Marriage Unexpectedly Becomes Real (this seems like potentially such an S&S thing to cause sinister trouble)
First Dance at a Wedding (I included this as it seemed a sort of potentially charged moment - significance, music, lyrics, movement - that might be a trigger in something).
Ghost Marriage
Historical Marriage Traditions (you see the word tradition there? Dangerous! Why will we humans do this kind of thing?! Also, if our trio are subject to them, it could involve having to wear fabulous outfits, always a bonus if your name is Silver or Sapphire)
Magic wedding ceremony marries the wrong people
Marriage Accidentally Had Unfortunate Consequences
Marriage to Stop Eldritch Forces From Re-Entering The World
Marriage within dreams becomes real
Marrying the dead keeps them alive
Metaphoric Marriage Becomes Literal
Pretending to be married while undercover
Spouses Psychically Share Each Other’s Pain
This Wedding Requires a Blood Sacrifice
Time Travel Backward To Fix The Past Also Results In Unexpectedly Getting Married
Trapped In Fake Perfect World That Includes Marriage They Don't Believe They Can Ever Really Have
Work Partnerships Considered Marriages
DNW: Other setting AUs, evil!Silver.
8. The Shadow of the Tower
Elizabeth of York/Henry VII
I love their canon arranged marriage and its mix of being a genuine romance but also painful and awkward with Henry's insecurity and the political situation and power dynamics (where Henry has the power, but also in many senses, it's Elizabeth who does in the relationship more), so any missing scenes with them in the lead up to and after their marriage would be lovely, whether entirely made up or taken from historical events and snippets not included in the series. I'd also be very happy with complete AUs of any sort - canon divergence, magical/supernatural, or translated into other times and places, including modern AUs. I've chosen a mix of prompts, some more the former, some the latter (but go with whatever you feel inspired to do on them, of course.) I'm fine with the inclusion of any other characters from the show as you wish.
Arranged Marriage
Both Spouses Are In Love But Believe The Other Is In The Marriage Out Of Obligation
Character A and Character B Must Pretend to Be Married For the Inheritance
Forced to Marry Due to Soulbond
Forced to Marry Enemy
Formal Courtship and Proposal (we see the start of it, but it'd be lovely to see more, and in fic, there are no wigs)
Getting Married to Avoid Otherwise-Likely Marriage to Unbearable Third Party
Historical Marriage Traditions
Marriage As Political Tool
Marriage of Convenience
Marrying for a prophecy
Marrying to save your kingdom
Trapped In Fake Perfect World That Includes Marriage They Don't Believe They Can Ever Really Have
We Each Agreed To Marry An Unknown Person But Why Did It Have To Be YOU
DNW: Richard III/Elizabeth of York, or getting into the whole RIII controversy really.
9. Star Wars Prequel Trilogy
Padme Amidala/Obi-Wan Kenobi
I love them! AU is basically a requisite here, but in general I'd prefer canon-divergence, although for this fest, I'd be good with other settings if you had ideas. So, things where some mission involving an accidental marriage happens before Padme can get together with Anakin (or even after, if she's realised she misread her feelings & everything gets more tangled), or in post-canon Padme Lives AUs.
Accidental Marriage
Aliens Make Them Get Married
Avoiding arranged marriage by marrying someone else
Characters Keep "Forgetting" to Annul Accidental Marriage
Characters Mistakenly Believe Ritual Marriage Isn't Legally Binding
Fake Marriage
Getting married repeatedly
Getting Married To Avoid A Diplomatic Incident
Marriage Arranged by Third Party With Dubious Motives (what if Palpatine decides the best way to mess with Anakin's head isn't pushing him together with Padme, but Padme with Obi-Wan? What if that proves to be a terrible mistake for a would-be emperor?)
Marriage is Interrupted by an Assassination Attempt and they Continue After they Take Care of Them
Marriage of Convenience
Married To Save Each Other's Lives
Marrying for a prophecy
People Stuck in Time Loop Get Married and then Time Loop Ends Unexpectedly
Pretending to be married while undercover
Time Loop Can Only Be Ended Through Marriage
Time Travel Backward To Fix The Past Also Results In Unexpectedly Getting Married
Whatever you come up with, I hope you have fun and I look forward to seeing the results! ♥
