Hurt/Comfort Bingo Round 11

I need to catch up again, but in the meantime, (probably) my favourite bingo opened for sign-ups and I was right there, even though the prompts tend to scare me - hc_bingo!

(In addition I have rashly volunteered to sort out their tags, which has been a nice low level activity for the last couple days. If a bit too addictive!)

Anyway, I have a card! It actually has one of my vetoes on it (crucifixion), but I looked at it and decided I mostly really liked it apart from that so I kept it anyway as I would have regretted it lots had the replacement been scarier.

I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, but I am eyeing up the second horizontal line, and trying to avoid my Veto. (Which probably means I'll make something for that first if I'm not careful.)

What should I make or write for it? Assuming I ever have brain again... XD (They allow any fanworks.)

Well, at the moment, if I do go for the second horizontal, shipwrecks will happen! Er, assuming anything happens. I wrote one fill last year! But I mean to do better this year, as I do love this particular bingo.

I've never succeeded at completing a fandom bingo card so I stopped signing up for them but this looks very tempting.

Well, they are very nice and have no penalties and a long amnesty, so you could try! (I rarely manage a bingo, but I usually have at least 1 fill for amnesty and as long as the card makes me happy and/or I make something I wouldn't have done anyway, who needs a bingo?)

Go get a scary card and cheer yourself up imagining hurting and comforting your faves and then remember it too late this time next year, what's to lose? ♥

It's not even just till Jan 5th - that's just for the official bingos. Amnesty then continues until the beginning of next June.

I thought I noticed that you'd opted out of crucifixion but it's on your card.

Yes, it was an error, but I liked the card too much to ask for a replacement! It's apart from my veto, one of the best I've had in a while, so I thought I'd just keep it. They're usually very good about vetoes, though, even if you cheatingly ask for more than 3 things by stealth.

I was trying to think why you would be bringing Michael Palin in (not that I've any objection) and then I remembered the crucifixion thing. (It's early in the morning for me!!)

I might do a metaphorical shipwreck and then, clearly, half my flist would be disappointed in me! XD

Can you ask them to replace just that one square on your card? They really should not have given you one of your vetoes on your card.

Tell them you love your card overall, but it has one of your vetoes on it and you would like them to just replace that one square if possible. If not possible, you will keep this card, and instead avoid the square.

They generate them randomly, so most bingoes won't replace just one square in a card, but it's fine. It was an error and if I'd said, they'd have given me a new one straight away - I just decided that I liked it and wanted to keep it! I never do a blackout, and I'm sure it'll be easy enough to avoid or come up with some way of tackling it if I want to. (Recs and metaphorical interpretations are my go-to for these situations! Or Sapphire and Steel. You can get round anything with S&S!)

That's a good card; I've probably written six of them, not all in different stories.

Not sure I'd sign up though; I've found writing too hard lately (which explains why I haven't written your prompts from early in lockdown, even though I have a couple of lame ideas).

Heh, I've been frustrated by their lack of tagging, so I could not resist offering. I'm enjoying it at the moment, and hopefully once I've done the big tidy, it'll be a low-effort, calming sort of thing.

hc_bingo is open to wide interpretation of prompts, so probably! But I like the second horizontal line as well as a few others (there's a couple of good possible parallel diagonals too).
