Yet Another Meme
Apr. 5th, 2010 03:24 pmWhat else do you do on a bank holiday when you're the only one in the universe who hasn't seen the new Doctor? Memed from
lizzie_marie_23.
1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment.
2) Ask your f-list to post questions in the comments. For example: "One, nine, and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. Do they succeed?", "Under what circumstances might five and fourteen fall in love?", "Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?"
3) After your f-list has stopped asking questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.
(Sort of like the reverse of the last one. I'd better go and make a random list).
After that, I should go write something. (And I think I miss the point of the ficlets challenge. It was supposed to be laid back, not 'how soon can I get to the end?'. Maybe I have one tiny, tiny thing in common with Lynda Day after all... )

Date: 2010-04-05 02:29 pm (UTC)8, 10 and 11 go on a trip together - who packs the food and who whines the whole time they're travelling?

Date: 2010-04-05 02:47 pm (UTC)And how can you ask???? ;-D I am, but someone at work might have recorded it for me, so I'm hanging on till tomorrow, and then I should watch it one way or the other - I'm just badly wanting to watch it on my TV rather than iplayer, if I can! So it's self-imposed, because I could have watched it this morning, but still. I'm pleased - the overal impression seems to be good rather than bad, which is nice whatever I think...
And I like your q!! :-D

Date: 2010-04-05 02:50 pm (UTC)Well I asked because it's been two days since it aired and you didn't give the impression that you were holding off on watching it. But I see my impression was mistaken...
And I like your q!! :-D
Thanks! I confess, I was thinking "If it was Doctors Eight, Ten and Eleven..." :D But I'm not expecting it to be those three!

Date: 2010-04-05 02:56 pm (UTC)I know, I'm going to be thinking that way every time someone asks a q, if anyone else does - I was just realising that myself after I read yours. Which is also entertaining, of course. Multi Doctor ideas are always fun. (And no, my list is more random than me listing the Doctors in order, plus four extras! :-D)

Date: 2010-04-05 03:03 pm (UTC)Multi-Doctor ideas are fab - and if you want to *write* Eight, Ten and Eleven (plus companions) on a roadtrip, I will love you forever! :P
And I did assume you'd picked more characters than just the Doctor (I was assuming the Brig and Liz were in there somewhere, plus, possibly, Harry, Ruth, some folks from Blake's 7 and/or Press Gang).

Date: 2010-04-05 03:14 pm (UTC)Heh. I have to see Eleven first, though... (Plus I am too amused by the assembled actual characters.) :-D
Hang on - are you sure you're not psychic? (Except, actually, I haven't got some of those...)
no subject
Date: 2010-04-05 03:24 pm (UTC)Well I wasn't expecting you to write the fic *this instant* - I'm not *that* demanding!
I'm usually only psychic if I haven't had enough sleep and am overtired - apparently sufficient tiredness frees my brain from its usual limitations enough for me to become somewhat psychic, going on past experiences.

Date: 2010-04-05 03:40 pm (UTC)Oh? ;-D
Okay...

Date: 2010-04-05 03:43 pm (UTC)I can BE that demanding, if you want... :D But I'm happy for you to wait until you've seen a few eps of Eleven and Amy before you write it... :D

Date: 2010-04-05 05:04 pm (UTC)Oh, I think I will. I'm pretty easily pleased, after all. :-)

Date: 2010-04-05 03:04 pm (UTC)Totally OT, but before I forget, I'll mail your two books back to you at the end of the week - I just need to find a *secure* envelope to put them in, first...

Date: 2010-04-05 03:15 pm (UTC)(My Dad once complained to my middle sister that she'd gone out and bought a brand new envelope to post something to him, and she just looked at him and said, "Dad, I'm the only one in this family who does, and somebody needs to..." *cough*) Thanks - did you enjoy?

Date: 2010-04-05 03:25 pm (UTC)Honestly, I was amazed all four books were in it still!
I enjoyed re-reading Human Nature. I'm afraid Well-Mannered War eventually bored me into putting it down and not picking it back up. Which was a disappointment.

Date: 2010-04-05 03:42 pm (UTC)Cool. Shame about the Well-Mannered War, but there you go. I haven't read them for ages, but I did like the Gareth Roberts MAs (especially The English Way of Death, and The Plotters).

Date: 2010-04-05 03:46 pm (UTC)Yes it was a shame - I've read several of Gareth's books (incl EWoD) but this one just didn't work for me. Not sure why.
