I'm not sure my brain's recovered from the week (what with daft fic, Obsessions, nasty minutes, general stuffs, and making comms). It must therefore be time for a meme, and I found this:

Give me a character from any fandom, tv show, movie, book you know that I know and I will tell you:

a. My favorite thing about that character.
b. My least favorite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.
f. Their ship from hell.
g. Their song.
h. The title of their biography or autobiography.
i. The last bad dream they had.
j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

Some of those questions looks hard, but fun idea, and an excuse to maybe exorcise some of that obsessiveness. :-)

Since you gave me a fallback prompt then, perhaps I should return that compliment. If you'd prefer to ship and then kill off Zoe Heriot, feel free.

Yes, it was Sam/Jamie. I ended up writing both.

And why would I ship Zoe? Surely I'd want to keep her for myself. If she, you know, actually existed :-)

She's clever and bossy, and short, and inconsistent, and a genius and wears a sparkly cat suit. What's not to love?

What happened to her in The War Games. :-(

Okay. Please do not shoot me. Don't tell the Jamie/Doctor shippers, and don't think too badly of me: The Doctor. Because she likes to think she's his intellectual equal and almost is... and only in a sort of wistful, non-graphic, meeting of minds sort of way (think of how she runs away from her home in almost exactly the way he seems to have left Gallifrey). And, all right, it amuses me that she's (I think) the first person we see him kiss, so I like to be awkward just before someone brings in THree and his obvious flirting. :lol:

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
I'm no good at this bit of this meme. Erm...

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.
Actually, just because I've been writing Press Gang a lot, a show down between Zoe and Lynda Day would be rather fun. And surreal. Zoe might lose, or be forced to resort to judo, though...

f. Their ship from hell.
I do not think she would take kindly to a Cyberman or a Dalek.

g. Their song.
Okay, I am also rubbish at this part of the meme...

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.
The History of A Genius, probably.

i. The last bad dream they had.
Memories of her travels trying to resurface. *wibbles* Nasty Time Lords.

I think john_elliott has an answer to that already. I think the good thing about fictional characters is they don't always have to die. You just stop before you get to that bit. And I like Zoe too much to want her to die.

(d) is tricky, isn't it? Oddly, the name that comes to mind is Jerry Burton from Miss Marple (The Moving Finger) who seems to have a thing for emotionally damaged twentysomething mathematicians.
(e) My only knowledge of Lynda Day is through your fic, but Zoe using her judo is usually good for some fun. I wonder what they'd be arguing about?
(j) Copout :-) Though absent an explicit she-must-die directive, I think the nearest I'd come is 'disappeared in mysterious circumstances'. Probably last seen standing beside the sundial at Belton House.

(d)I didn't remember Megan being a mathematician, but I will definitely take your word for it. I'm sure there's someone I've thought of in passing, but no idea. Ah, well, you'll have to take her after all.
(e) Lynda doesn't need an excuse: Zoe was in the way on a bad day / talking to Spike while wearing a sparkly catsuit / being smug to Kenny / temporarily working in the graphics department. Take your pick. :-D Possibly just existing in the newsroom would be enough.

And since in a case of the Doctor vs Lynda Day there would be serious doubt about the outcome, Zoe would have to resort to judo. However, if Spike was about, she'd be in trouble. If Jamie were also about, Spike would be in trouble and there'd be a general fight in the newsroom. I suppose we could solve e and d by letting her have Kenny. After all, he's okay with short, bossy, clever, smug females to have been best friends with Lynda all his life. ;-D (And, seriously, no Press Gang? Where were you?)

"I loved Maths. But it wasn't awfully well taught. I'd like to be taught Maths really well. It's heavenly. I think there's something heavenly about numbers, anyway, don't you?"

Well, I was nearly as bad I suppose. Right until the end of S4, I was sneering at my sisters for watching some rubbish ITV drama. *cough* And then I caught an episode and was hooked. And there were only 6x 25 mins left of it, damn my bad timing. ;-D
