I really am working through my overdue posts here (\o/). A small post of some icons I made, and a few fic recs for Liz Shaw, in tribute. I started this at the time, but was interrupted by my parents' visit and the resulting tiredness. The recs are more of a list, this once. (But they are all very good, I promise.)

ETA: And for those who don't follow dw_straybunnies, this month's challenge is Liz Shaw and there are lots of Liz-centric prompts up there to steal and write (or just any Liz fic). There has been one so far (\o/) and so I have prepared a banner for participants. (And I want one myself now... :lol:)

Um. Yes. I'm sorry? For one thing, I had this written out in rough before my birthday. Had I known I was going to get such a lovely Liz/Silver story then, I would have not troubled my head with writing one. Which turned into several scenarios, and then this. And also there's a sad ending (but once it became more than one meeting, I think that was inevitable, much as I usually avoid death!fic. Well, unless it's OCs. I kill them off ruthlessly. Or actual canon). Anyway, I wrote it, I typed it up; here it is:

Notes/Warnings: Mild/telepathic/ambiguous/implied [human/Element] shippage, possible hurt/comfort, sort of major character death. (Um. My warnings for this are a bit rubbish.) No spoilers for either series. (It should be accessible to DW fans without knowledge of S&S, or I hope so, anyway. I'm not sure about the other way around.)

Summary: The problem is that Liz Shaw always likes to try and understand a mystery…

Normal service will be resumed at some point with memes and catching up with people and all, but I posted Chapter 1 of the next UNIT fic this evening:

Unlike the last one, this is back to proper UNIT stuffs, with monsters and running around, and a cameo from Liz Shaw... and possibly one or two other unexplained happenings (all will become clear in time).

(But I had a lovely weekend!)

One more, this time, for akashasheiress. I hung on, trying to think so something not so completely shallow and silly, but, erm, well...

And to pedanther and jjpor: okay, I admit it, your prompts are tough work and I will get back to you on that as soon as I can. ;-) I only have unsatisfactory roughs, but I am on the train a fair bit this week, which should do the trick.

I wrote the beginning and end of this before UNIT: Unfinished, so that was still my last Brig/Liz story (she claims).  And since I kept claiming that Season 7 would have been fine without the Doctor, I thought I'd better prove it.  (Sorry Doctor, nothing personal...)

I've finally posted it.  With not an awful lot of alterations.  Not sure what that was all about...

I'd delete this post, but I will put it up again shortly.  I'm really beginning to regret giving it that title now.  I've lost confidence again.  Experience tells me that this means there's still something that needs fixing.

Just wrote another Brigadier and Liz story.  I very nearly posted it yesterday, but swiped it off Teaspoon just in time, realising that (ironically) it wasn't finished.  So you must particularly appreciate the ending, as it wasn't there the first time round, along with one or two other tweaks.

Anyway, an attempt to tie up all my loose ends.  UNIT are having a dull week until Liz phones the Brigadier and asks to see him.  Of course, after that everyone starts causing trouble in the way that only UNIT regulars can.
